Nails

I was going to do an outfit post for you today, buuuut I decided to save it for while I’m away. I’m planning on having a few guest bloggers (including my sister!) to keep you occupied, and then having some scheduled posts of my own too. Since I was wearing no make up today (I’m lazy!), I decided I would save that outfit for an appropriate No Make Up Monday post! So instead, I shall talk today about something I have started loving a lot recently, nails and nail art!
So the nails above are mine, obviously, that I did today =) I usually (or until recently) just wear plain colours on all my nails, but seeing loads of awesome coloured and patterned nails on everyone elses’ blogs I decided to try out some new things recently. This is pretty plain compared to other ones I’ve been trying out, but I like the clash of colours (and isn’t the coral colour just divine?!) So here are the colours I used:

I’ve really been loving the last one above recently, a mattifying top coat. It really transforms your nails because instead of having to buy separate colours just so that they are matte, you just need this one and you have a whole new set of colours! It dries really quickly too =)
I also wanted to show you a technique I tried out recently, water marbling. So the first time I did it (which the pictures are of), it came out absolutely perfectly. Everytime I’ve tried to do it since… no such luck!! I’ve just made a mess of myself (and the glass I was using…!). But I’ll keep trying! There are loads of tutorials out there about how to do this, so I’ll spare you the details, but I may do my own one day (when I can get it right myself!).

I love that coral color of nail polish! I did water marbling recently too – about half my nails turned out GORGEOUS, and the other half didn’t turn out too well. I did notice that my nails chipped really quickly with water marbling. I’ll probably do it again soon… maybe I’ll post about it! It is hard though and I made a mess of myself too, ha ha. I actually at one point dropped one of the polish brushes I was using and it went everywhere!

The coral Barry M colour is gorgeous. I have a friend who regulary can’t decide what colour to paint her nails so she paints each one a different colour.
