Despite this being an outfit that I really loved, the pictures didn’t come out too great due to a combination of rain (after a perfectly lovely day) and the horrendous blisters I got from these shoes – ah well, that’s what you get when you attempt to break in a new pair of shoes on a day you intended to walk into town for lunch. They were actually really comfortable all the time I was sat working and moving around the office; they just seemed to run on one place on the same bit of each foot, so either I have weirdly shaped feet or the shoes were weird – gonna go for it being my feet because it usually is! But the pictures are slightly blurry due to that useless rain that decided to come down just in time for pictures.
Both the dress and shoes are new from the ASOS sale. I’ve wanted some shoes with a gold heel for ages, ever since I spotted a pair of sandals with a gold heel in TK Maxx more than a year ago, but left them behind. I’m always in need of covered toe shoes too (I always seem to buy peep toes which are clearly inappropriate wear for England’s weather!), and I really like shoes with ankle straps at the moment, so these were perfect. And being only £16 in the ASOS sale I couldn’t leave them behind.
I’m not sure what made me go for the dress as it’s not really my usual style – I imagine it’s the right type of thing for festivals with the colourful paisley print and loose fit, but festivals aren’t really my thing! But I really like it anyway, and I’ve already worn it again since I took these photos, this time unbelted.

This weekend we ended up going back to my parents’ again – we seem to do this a lot at the moment! It was Ben’s mum’s birthday, so we’d planned to go out for a meal, but the weather made a change (for the better!) so we decided to have a takeaway and eat at home in the garden instead. We ended up having it at my house as theirs is a bit up in the air at the moment as they’re redecorating the living room, so we sat out on the patio for a few hours with our Indian takeaway which was amazing.
Sunday was my aunt’s birthday so we popped over to see them. They’re the ones who had the new baby, Eva, last weekend, but she’s still doing a lot of sleeping (during the day time at least!), so I spent most of the time playing with my nearly 3 year old cousin Mollie in a tent my dad made for her out of an old sheet! She thought it was fun at least 😀
As I mentioned, the weather has been lovely this weekend, so I spent a bit of time sunbathing and reading. I had intended to mow the lawn but it was too hot for that – we Brits can’t cope with anything much over 24C in our own country! And today was back to work of course, which was a bit sad as the sun was still out while I was sat in the office, but never mind. Those of you that follow me on Twitter and Facebook might have seen some of the excitement we’ve had at work recently which is that my bosses have got a puppy! He comes in to visit every so often and hopefully will be spending more time there soon. It’s always very exciting, but he’s very good and doesn’t pester or anything – yeh, I pretty much work in the best place ever, or at least I think so 🙂

Such a pretty dress! And it looks great on you 🙂 I hate breaking in shoes, heels especially, it really deters me wearing my ‘good’ shoes out for fear of blisters anymore.

The dress is stunning. The prints and colour is simply gorgeous and even though you think they didn’t come out right, they still look amazing and perfect for summer. I really like the addition on the belt.
