Earlier in the week, I shared my work Christmas party outfit; now I’m sharing another Christmas occasion outfit – all thanks to Quiz and their Blogger Secret Santa! Each blogger was paired up with another and we were asked to pick out an outfit from their range of party dresses and party wear. I was a big fan of Quiz clothing when I was younger but had forgotten about it recently, so I was thrilled to get an opportunity to try them again.
I was paired with lovely Deborah at Country Heart and Home who explored my blog and picked out this gorgeous outfit for me.
For her, I had a good look around her blog and noticed several outfits where she looked absolutely stunning in trousers – here for example – and thought these would be much more versatile over the Christmas period along with a pair of stiletto ankle boots. Check out the whole outfit I picked for her here.
The dress is my absolute favourite part of this outfit. While I often choose more figure hugging pieces, I would have probably bypassed this one on the site because it’s not a neckline I’d usually choose – I’m not sure why, as I love it! It’s a kind of mock halterneck style, quite 90s I’d say, where the top narrows in over the shoulders – a very flattering cut, although it meant I needed to go braless! The black crochet lace creates an illusion layered over a beige fitted under layer – this shows off the detail in the lace and I love it, particularly how the under layer finishes above the knee – a fantastic detail.
It’s paired with a handy and super sparkly clutch bag. I love these box style ones as they’re far more sturdy – useful for someone as clumsy as me! Plus a pair of stiletto sandal heels with a frill around the ankle and toe. I can imagine these being my Christmas party shoes next year!
So why am I calling this a “Very Blair Waldorf Christmas”? Basically because I’m only 10 years behind the rest of the world and am currently watching Gossip Girl for the first time! I’m on Season 3 and am obsessed, and as soon as I pulled the dress and heels out of the bag, I saw Blair Waldorf wearing them in my imagination. Don’t you think it’s so very Blair Waldorf?! I mean hers would probably be designer, but I’m much happier with mine being from Quiz, thank you very much!
