Book Review: The Lake of Dead Languages by Carol Goodman

I read this book the day before yesterday and I really really liked it. It drew me in first obviously because of the dead language part (studying Classics and all), but it had a real sense of mystery and a very clever, intricate plot behind it. It was a modern day Greek Tragedy with all the tragedy themes entwined somehow, from suicide to murder to confused parentage and so on.
The story follows Jane Hudson who was a girl at a boarding school on Heart Lake in the year that 2 girls “committed suicide”, who we find out to have been her room mates. She finds herself back at the school as a Latin teacher when the same events begin to unfold once more.
