As the title of this post probably makes clear, today is my one year Blogaversary!! Yaaaay!! However, there’s sort of a little catch in that although I had a blog, I wasn’t really using it, preferring just to put outfit photos up on Lookbook instead. So I’ve prepared a little look-back through the ages (ahem..year) at my outfits, and possibly how my style has changed and evolved by having a blog.
January 2010
Ok, so the blog doesn’t yet exist, but let’s take a look at a couple of outfits that spurred on my want for somewhere to spread my love of fashion, shopping etc: (you can find these on my Lookbook)
Febuary 2010
So the blog just started, and this outfit, although not technically a proper outfit shoot, was one of the first on my blog. I loved this outfit, and still wear various combinations of it nowadays!
March 2010
I’m still not getting into outfit photos yet, but getting closer with this skirt I got from eBay after lusting after it in H&M for ages, it’s a favourite for going out now, too short and poofy for day time wear now – I think this shows a little bit of evolution in my fashion sense, I’m slowly being drawn towards longer lengths for skirts and trying out different things.
May 2010
It started to warm up and I started to feel more me in what I was wearing. I’m definitely a more Spring-Summer person and feel so much more comfortable wearing summer clothes than layering up in Winter.
June 2010
This was the first actual ‘shoot’ I did for my blog, with a skirt I’d loved for ages, with the boyfriend, the dog and the big empty fields behind my house =) I really loved these photos and they make me want summer so badly when I see them! You might recognise the last photo as my ex-header (by the way, I’m working on a new one now, this one is temporary!). I loved my hair at this point as well, it had a really nice length and wave to it =).
July-August 2010
We went on holiday to New England for a big chunk of Summer, so I didn’t do much with the blog then, but I continued to develop my style by playing with new ideas, wearing high-waisted jeans for example, and more shoots in fields! I got my amazing Jeffrey Campbells as an early birthday present too =D
September 2010
Went on another holiday, this time to Turkey with Ben so not much blogging then, then I bought an amazing floral dress from H&M which I think spurred on my love for all things floral. Since then I have collected far too many floral items, and probably will continue to do so!
October 2010
This is when my blog actually started to take off, since I started posting very regular outfits with my Daily Outfit Challenge (I resolved to take photos of my outfits every single day for a month, and I did!). So there are a lot of outfits in this month! I’ll just give you a few of my favourites. At this point I really felt like I sort of knew what I was doing with putting outfits together, and a lot of them felt very “me”.
November 2010
Around October/November I joined The Lovely Ones clothes swap and this really boosted my confidence in blogging, and I started reaching out more in the blogging world. I think I’ve met some really good blog friends through the swap, and since. This dress was the first item I received in the swap.
Thennnn, the first of the snow fell.
December 2010
I did my second challenge, this time to wear a men’s t shirt for 5 days in 5 different ways, starting to stretch my remixing abilities:
I really got into blogging in November/December, and started to understand what I was doing. I got a good sense of how to set out my posts, and got into my own sort swing. This first photo was from my 100th blog post which really marked something because for the first time I gained enough confidence to go outside and take photos on my own with self-timer.
January 2011
I was a bit rubbish with blogging in January! But I still managed to get some nice outfit shoots in; I was at home for nearly the whole month so I took advantage of using my garden (where I’m not as overlooked!) for my outfit photos. I really started to experiment now with things I wore.
February 2011
And finally, now! I’m doing the 30 for 30, bang in the middle of it right now and not getting too stuck with it yet! So here are a few of my favourites so far from it:
Happy blogaversary! looks like you’ve had a wonderfully fashionable year; I can’t even choose a favorite look.
Here is to another stylish year!
