Elegance (sort of…) for the Royal Wedding (yes, it had to be done!)

Well, everyone else is doing it, so yes, I’ll jump off the cliff, but I think everyone’s probably sick of seeing Kate’s dress on everyone else’s blogs, so I won’t do that, even though it was very pretty! This outfit wasn’t really intended to be a (sort of) elegant outfit, I actually had that one on this morning but didn’t take any photos, then after I had a shower I just threw this on and really liked it!

This is the skirt I got a while ago from a charity shop in Newcastle that I intended to shorten, but I changed my mind and I quite like it this length now, it fits in with all the midi stuff going on at the moment. Oh, and about charity shops, I have some exciting news, I shall tell you after this block of photos!

(The above photo is a sort of out take one haha!) Anyway, so for the first time ever, Newcastle is doing Newcastle Fashion Week from the 14th to the 21st May! It’s mainly aimed at the Fashion students at Northumbria, but everyone can get involved in some way. Soooo my news! I’ve been asked to be one of 5 contestants in the Charity Shop Challenge on the 21st May =D I’ll be given £15 to find an outfit made up entirely of clothes from charity shops in a certain time limit (we haven’t been given be the exact rules yet), and it will be judged by the crowd!! I’m so excited to be taking part in it! =)

Camel Cardigan: Primark
Black Double U Neck Dress (worn as a top): American Apparel
Polka Dot Midi Skirt: Vintage (charity shop)
Wedges: New Look
I employed Ben with my mum’s camera which is much better than mine to do my photos today =D That’s why they look better than usual, or at least I think so!! And I’ve got to say, I love these wedges. They were a spur of the moment buy because I thought they’d be nice for my holiday, but they’re so comfortable and easy to wear all day, even when I’ve been walking around a bit.

Normally I don’t really like long skirts, but this one is so stunning! You’ve made a really beautiful combination with the open back of that top.
