The lovely people over at Matalan asked me if I’d like to participate in their Style Project competition, and I jumped at the chance! The theme is Rocker Chic, but I took a kind of vintage twist on it (the whole leather boots thing just isn’t really me, however much I might like it on other people!), so think floral mixed with toughness, in my case, the leopard print! I started off with back combed crazy rocker hair, but decided to try a beehive as well for a more chic rocker-ish look. It took forever and a lot of pain to get my hair in this sort of beehive/bun, and a lot of help from my mother!! And I can’t even tell you how it’s done because we tried so many things and I don’t even know what worked in the end!! But I know it was painful, I have a lot of hair and it refuses to do what it’s told! Anyway, so we were given £50 by Matalan to buy an outfit to the theme from their website, and I came up with this! You can see my outfit details with clickable links here (and vote for me while you’re there!!).
Again I’ve got that crazy angry pout going on that obviously means I’m tough and scary… please never let me be a ‘rocker chic’ person for real because I’d just scare people with my dreadful angry pouting!! Even though this isn’t my usual style, I really enjoyed dressing up like this =D And despite the fact that once I’d ordered jeans I remembered, hang on, I don’t like wearing trousers =O ….I actually love them! I even wore them the next day for work haha! And I wouldn’t have thought I’d wear the shoes much, but I’ve worn them twice already in a week, including last night when I went to the cinema (saw Bridesmaids and it was hilarious!) and out for pizza (yums!).
Oh and by the way, the guitar (bass guitar actually) is my dad’s haha! My sister has about 6 guitars, but we thought this one looked cooler =D And it’s not just a prop, I did learn guitar…for a while…okay only about 2 years and I was about 11 but still, I can remember like 3 songs…one of which is the Can Can…
All clothes are, of course, courtesy of Matalan!
So don’t forget to vote for me by commenting with ‘Rebel Angel’ here at the Matalan Blog!! And here’s a final picture, as usual, just because:
Those shoes are fantastic! A way to sneak in some leopard print while keeping it modest with a lower heel. That last photo is hilarious haha… did your dad see you doing that too? :p Really cool outfit 😀
These photos are fantastic, I hope you win! I love your shoes and top 🙂
