Now time for the outfit photos from the IFB Crystals and Crumpets event and a little bit more about it =) So as I mentioned before, Charlotte and I had planned to meet before but had a few hindrances along the way! Fortunately I can now prove to you that she is not a creepy old man (as my parents worried, even though they have seen pictures of her in my dress!). I was worried that we might not find anything to say to each other, but that worry was blown away as soon as I met her and we spent the whole day chatting about blogging, other bloggers (it’s like having loads of friends in common!), clothes and life!!
Crystals and Crumpets Outfit
Pretend you don’t see the wound on my leg!! And then remind me to be more careful when climbing out of pools and trying to carry sun loungers =S Anyway, on to the outfit! Oh goshhh, I had so much trouble trying to decide what to wear for the event!! I’d never been to anything like it before! As I mentioned before, we needed to have hats, so although I’d had an idea for an outfit previously (the outfit I wore to my cousin’s Christening but changed up a little), as soon as I found my hat I knew it wouldn’t work with that. I also really wanted to borrow Ben’s sister’s jacket to wear because it’s so lovely, but as soon as I’d got it home and tried it on I realised it just didn’t suit me at all.
So on the same day I found this hat, I also found these shoes and this top in New Look. I bought the top just as a basics one in a lovely autumnal colour not intending to wear it for the event, but when the outfit came together, this just fitted! I absolutely loved these shoes as soon as I saw them! I’m loving my wedges and chunky heels at the moment and they worked pretty well with the dress I thought. I was originally wearing a cardigan and tights too, but apparently London is at least 10 degrees hotter than the North so I ended up stripping off my layers (as well as the hat because it hurt my head!!)
Hat: Accessorize
Top: New Look (£5.99)
Dress: New Look
Belt: Topshop
Socks: Stolen from my mum!
Wedges: New Look
We did some photos during the event and some after, hence the lack of hat in the earlier photos, maybe I should have put those up later…never mind! After the event we weren’t really sure what to do, then we thought, ‘Hang on, we’re fashion bloggers, on Oxford Street, in London where we may not be for a while, there are a lot of shops here….’ Yes we ended up shopping!! Not much though, Charlotte forced me to buy a jacket (hee hee!) in Forever 21 (outfit post of that coming up soon!), and she got a few things in New Look, but apart from that we only bought books!! And hung out in a pub drinking lemonade because we’re cool like that =) I had quite a late train too so we got some tea in O’Neills (cheap and cheerful!) before parting. But I had such an amaaaazing day and we’re already planning meeting up again sometime soon =)
