Something a little different today: I was asked to do some Campus Fashion photography for my uni’s newspaper The Courier, but unfortunately I wasn’t given all the info I needed (I wasn’t told to ask about what clothes they were wearing), so my pictures can’t be used, which is a little annoying because I spent an hour out in the cold trying to find willing subjects, but never mind, at least I can use them here!
This is Emma Barratt who’s studying Psychology. She caught my eye with the bright colour of her coat and the cute cloche hat with the bow. It was nice to see someone with a bit of colour walk past on a dreary day, everyone else seemed to be in dark colours!!
This is Rachel who is studying Fine Art. I again adored all the colour in her outfit, with the oversized orange coat and the long floral dress underneath – it was nice to see someone wearing something different rather than the usual uniform of jeans or leggings. Also, notice the bows in her hair? They’re made from sweet wrappers!! Now there’s a way to be different!!
And finally George. I was really happy when George went past because I was told to get some photos of boys’ outfits too, which is not really my area of expertise, and everyone seemed to just be in plain black coats or hoodies with jeans. Also I was a bit wary of approaching random boys, so it was pretty lucky when I spotted this outfit then looked up to the face and realised it was someone I knew: George is one of my friend Rosie’s friends!! Anyway, I was glad to finally see someone in something different, and this jumper is perfect menswear for this season.
So do you all like this addition to the blog?? I quite enjoyed doing street style because I pretty much had to do what I do anyway when I’m walking around: look at people’s outfits! I may do more around the city centre rather than just within Newcastle Uni. So let me know if you’d be interested in me carrying on this feature =)
Love,
This is great! I love all the looks…and I would certainly like to see more street style when you have time to photograph people!
I think that northern cities aren’t represented much in terms of street style on the web so I’d love to see more of this.
I like this, and you are picking people who look like REAL people so that makes it awesome. That girl in the orange coat looks like we should be friends.
