Look! I got creative today, sitting in the leaves and everything!! I think it worked pretty well actually =D Look out for the other sitting in the leaves picture later in the post!!
Anyway, so it’s Thanksgiving in the US today, and despite the fact that this is not holiday in England, I decided I wanted to dress up for it! Even though I’ve never actually experienced a Thanksgiving in America, I thought this outfit worked for it, I’m not sure why?! Maybe it’s something to do with the burnt orange tights or the velvettyness of the dress.
Anyway, this is the other item of clothing from Mina UK I told you about =) I absolutely love it!! I really like this length of dresses at the moment, although they’re quite hard to find. I’m finding a lot of my dresses to be a bit short at the moment, especially because (you might be able to tell!) it’s pretty windy right now so longer dresses are less likely to expose me!! I also LOVE the neckline of this dress, the fact that it’s square is so flattering and for some reason it sort of reminds me of a Jane Austen time dress =) Also the lace…aaah it’s just perfect!!
I’m sort of out of things to say today!! That’s unusual!! Well all I seem to do is work at the moment, even though all I really want to do is read (and by that I mean normal books as opposed to dissertation reading!!), and that really isn’t very interesting to talk about!! I have my sister coming to stay this weekend. It was her birthday on Tuesday, so last weekend I took her to see Breaking Dawn (there’s something I can talk about in a minute!!) then Ben and I took her to the pub in the evening for a meal. Also to get to the cinema, I drove on a motorway for the first time, eeek!! I passed my test 3 years ago (oh my goodness, I didn’t realise it was that long!!), but I’ve never been allowed to drive properly on a motorway until my dad came with me, but he never has time to do it, so I just went for it and did it myself…and it wasn’t even that bad!!
So about Breaking Dawn then (feel free to skip this if you’re not a Twilight fan!!): let me first start by saying, I’m not really a fan of the films. I actually read the first book before it was popular (I know, everyone probably says this, but honestly, I read it as soon as it came out in England which was, I believe, 2005), and I loved it then. I remember when I found out the film was being made of it and telling my sister (who now also loves it) and she was just like, “Never heard of it.” Anyway, so I love the books, despite them not being particularly well written, I think the storyline is amazing. But the films I think are pretty useless. Bella in the films is not the Bella of the books in my opinion. She is just entirely wrong. And there’s just something in the atmosphere of the films that isn’t quite right. But anyway, Breaking Dawn I thought was actually pretty good!! Definitely my favourite so far, despite it being a little gory at some points, and it’s rated 12A, so children younger than 12 can watch it?! I think it was far too ‘explicit’ despite nothing being shown, the implications were there and it was gory so would have terrified me when I was 12!! But maybe children are different now, oh I feel old haha!! So anyway, positive review on my side even though not much happened. I particularly loved the Honeymoon destination and promptly announced to Ben on my return that we needed to get married soon because I’d chosen where we were going on Honeymoon…when I told him it was a private island he didn’t look too happy…

omg that dress is a friggin DREAM!!!
As a full-fledged American, let me just say your outfit totally works for Thanksgiving. THe white and black echo pilgrim outfits, and the orange tights celebrate harvest colors. Perfection. 🙂
Gorgeous dress and those brickreddish tights are perfect with it! Love those heels too! I’d wear those heels with everything and anything, so versatile and cute with the little studs!
