This is a bit of a life update post!! I’ve been finding it difficult to get outfit photos done again for several reasons: the fact that it’s only light from 8am till 3pm nowadays, and it’s getting worse (the complaint of many other bloggers too!); I’ve been feeling a bit bleurgh again recently with my mystery illness and a cold on top of it; I’ve also been spending a lot of time in the library (yay, new home!); and also it’s been SO windy!! I always have a problem in windy weather because as soon as the wind picks up, all my brain wants me to wear is pretty twirly skirts and dresses, which are simply just not feasible for wind!!
So anyway, the above photo is from the weekend when my sister came up to stay with me. I took her to see Hanson – anyone remember them?? They did Mmm Bop if that helps, but they certainly don’t look anything like what they did in the video now!! Technically I think we’re a bit young to know them, but I do remember Mmm Bop from school discos when I was little! It’s my sister who likes them though, and it was for her birthday =) I’m wearing a new leather skirt from H&M (£14.99) and a sheer colour block top from Peacocks that I got a few weeks ago with some leftover money on a gift card. I’m sure I’ll be wearing that skirt again soon though, so you can see it properly!!
Beth came up on the Friday, then my parents decided to come up for a visit too so they came on the Saturday afternoon, went to see a film and went for a meal by themselves on Saturday evening. The weird thing was that after the Hanson concert, Beth and I were waiting for the bus, and guess who walked past to find a taxi?! The parents!! So they paid for us to get a taxi home (yay!!). The next day they came round to our house and we went for a walk on the beach at Tynemouth with the dog, and I played with my camera and got cold!! By the way, Lottie (dog) is drinking the seawater…she never ever learns that it’s salty!!
And here’s my outfit! Again, it was a very windy day, so I had to either go for trousers or a tight dress/skirt. I ended up grabbing this dress which I actually haven’t worn on the blog because it’s a couple of sizes too big – there was only a 12 left, but I loved it, so I bought it!! It still looks alright on but not so good in photos for some reason. So this wasn’t exactly the best outfit!! The socks and boots were for warmth (these are my boots for when the snow comes!) and everything was kind of just thrown on! But the photos turned out okay, so here they are =D
Hat: Primark
Coat: Miss Selfridge
Dress: H&M
Tights: M&S
Socks: New Look
Boots:Barratts
I promise I’ll do some proper outfit photos soon!! I also have another idea for some posts lined up, so I’ll be back with those too soon (hint: it’s to do with food…yums!!).
Love,
Ahh. Who doesn’t remember Hanson? I never liked them, but they were still good times. 🙂
Love your winter beach going outfit. Those socks totally pull everything together. Oh, and cute family!
Hahaha I looooved them so much back then 🙂
And yes, taking pics in winter can be so frustrating. I am going to take most of them indoors from now on…
I know, the light is horrible these days!! Love your seaside outfit 😉
