I’m sorry to have been missing for ages again!! I had work on Monday morning at the bakery and felt exhausted the next day (when I was supposed to be working) with another attack of whatever it is that’s making me constantly ill (I will get myself to the doctors again), and today I’ve managed to come down with a cold =( So no  proper outfits photos. But above is my newest exciting thing: I finally decided to sign up to Glossybox after seeing it on loads of blogs, and I loved my first Christmas edition box. I’ll probably end up doing the generic review post sometime soon!!

Cardigan: New Look
Dress: Quiz
Tights: New Look
Wedges: New Look

On Saturday evening we went out for my Grandma’s birthday to a local pub – since it was Christmas I decided to dress up in a sparkly dress that I haven’t worn for at least 4 years!! I always want an occasion to wear this, and I never get one, so I decided this would be as good as any, dressed down with a super old cardigan too!! I believe I’ve had it since I was around 15 – I like my old clothes at the moment!! The meal was pretty good, I especially loved my starter which was smoked salmon. It was also a pretty exciting night because my old housemistress happened to be in the pub!! She was my housemistress of my boarding house at school between the ages of 13 to 16 until she moved to another school down south, so it was quite exciting to see her again!! When I started at the school, my year was the first year to take girls all the way through the school, so we were a completely new house, we had to live in a really old boarding house (it turned out the water in there was toxic, we didn’t find out till we’d left it!!) and she was the first housemistress of a new house. It was pretty scary being the first girls at the school since it was very traditionally a boys’ school, I had rocks thrown at me on my first day, a bucket of water tipped over my head and a football kicked at me, but in the end we all survived and I think that’s pretty amazing!! So it was fun to talk to her about that all over again =D

Oh and I’m sorry for the not-so-good quality of the photos above – it was dark and they had to be done inside and my camera just didn’t agree with the lighting!! Also, our Christmas tree is undecorated here because my dad put it up on the Saturday but we didn’t decorate it until the Sunday, pictures of which are below!! Unfortunately, I had my portrait lens on my camera and the whole tree wouldn’t fit in the frame haha, so I’ll have to get some better ones soon, especially now that all the presents are under it =D

Cardigan: George at ASDA (sale)
Top: Debenhams (sale)
Jeans: New Look
Ski socks over my jeans!!
I was wearing a couple of new clothing items on Sunday too (with jeans, shock horror!!) – the cardigan from George at ASDA was only £5 in the sale and I got another beige one too because my Primark one has a massive hole in it!! And I ordered a couple of things in the Debenhams sale recently, this top is one and I also got a midi skirt that’ll be perfect in Spring. I decided to go for Christmassy colours for tree decorating, green and red =D I’ll do some more detail pics of the top soon because it’s really pretty close up – the white stripes are actually scalloped and it has a Peter Pan collar covered by my hair in these photos!!
And speaking of hair, I’m waiting on some hair dye to arrive (it’s been 3 weeks but they say it’s coming!) and it’s copper coloured henna – hopefully it’ll work on my hair!! I’ve heard good reviews of henna, because it’s more natural and lasts longer in stubborn hair like mine. For example, I dyed it about a month ago with ‘permanent’ dye; that colour has now completely disappeared!! So tell me, have any of you used henna hair dye and what do you think of it?? I figure that even if it doesn’t really change my hair colour, it’ll at least make it a bit shinier!!

Love,

I’ve never used henna, but have also heard great things about it. Good luck! Also, love the sparkly dress! Thanks for your lovely comment on my blog, visit again soon 🙂

It might not be the colour you want it to be, but your hair looks really lovely in these photos. I did it and got bangs, and only realized after that I have a severe flippy cowlick on one side. Sigh. I could probably get a straightener or something but I’m too lazy for that hah. That sparkly dress is really pretty, but I can see why you haven’t had many places to wear it. Even I’d have a hard time rocking shinies like that.

Your first glossybox was the first one I’ve NOT had!! Just cancelled my subscription – This box looks pretty cool, but I’m definitely happier with the Mac lipstick I bought instead heehe! Also not sure how I’d deal with 6 pink boxes and 1 red, eek!!

You look fab btw, love the hats 😀
