This may at first look like a pretty plain outfit, and you might also be thinking, ‘Hey, did she get another new jumper?!’. If you were thinking that, you would be wrong because…
That’s right!! It’s an old cardigan backwards!! I saw it on Krystal at This Time Tomorrow like this:
…and I just knew I had to do it! I’d been wanting to try this for a while, I’ve seen people do it before, but I’d completely forgotten my idea to do it. But when I saw it here, I just had to try it out. I wish I had a mustard cardigan because this one looks so awesome and I’d always wear it in so many other ways, including the usual way round!! The only cardigan apart from my plain black one that I thought would work this way is this one, and I didn’t want to be in all black with the leather skirt, so red it was! And I think it worked quite well, don’t you? At least it’s something different!!
Do you think my hair looks ginger/red in the photos above?? I’m pretty sure it’s the way the light hit it at that angle, but ironically that’s the exact colour I want my hair to be!! But I can’t just go around in that light all the time =( And I think to get it that colour will include bleach, and a lot of it knowing my hair…
Anyway, the skirt, as I mentioned before, is new. I got it in H&M at the weekend when my sister came up, I thought it was pretty good for £14.99. I also got an AMAZING dress for £9.99 which I desperately want to wear, but it’s more of an evening dress and a bit too flouncy for the day, so I should probably wait for an evening thing to wear it…annoying!! Someone invite me somewhere nice!!
I’m not sure if the cardigan looks odd or not this way round, I just can’t decide!! I really want it to work because I want to wear other cardigans this way, and this one with other things – it’s just opened up like 50 remix options!! Anyway, I have an awesome food post planned this weekend (yums!) which includes things along the lines of foods I’ve eaten recently and some exciting news about a Christmas Pudding!! (Be excited!!)
Cardigan: New Look
Dress: American Apparel
Skirt: H&M
Tights: M&S
Shoes: Melissa for Vivienne Westwood
By the way, you may have noticed I’ve listed a dress above in my outfit pieces: I have a secret dress underneath my outfit haha!! I think in a couple of photos from the back you can just see it. It’s so cold at the moment I couldn’t wear just a cardigan, it had to have another layer underneath and it’s one of the double U neck ones so it has a low back!!
The cardigan looks great like that! The outfit is fantastic. And your long legs look wicked with those red VW’s. You should host your own semi-fancy event, and tell your guests they need to dress up a little! Then you can wear the dress to your own party haha.
It looks super cool and so unusual from the boring jumper routine. I think I’ll also try it out!
And of course the shoes. I knew they were VW! X

I love it! I’ve been wanting to wear a cardigan backward since a few years ago when my grandmother told me that there was a trend for doing it when she was in high school (the late ’40s) and her step father wouldn’t let her wearing it like that so she had to flip it around secretly in the bathroom at school. Haha! Anyway, it looks fantastic on you, and you’ve definitely inspired me to give it a try sooner than later.
I’ve totally been wanting to try that since I saw it on Krystal’s blog too!
It looks great on you!
