Yesterday was the most gorgeous Spring day ever, I got to just wear this beautiful vintage dress that I won on eBay a while back now with a cardigan. I’d been trying desperately to save the dress for a perfect sunny day, and this just seemed right, despite it being a couple of months earlier than I expected!! And I spent pretty much the whole day outside laying on a cushion on our patio doing notes for my dissertation, well, about 5 hours of the day since the sun isn’t very high in the sky yet and disappears behind the trees at the bottom of out garden mid-afternoon.
I was so glad to have my camera back yesterday – I spent quite a while playing around with it, trying out things I’d forgotten about!! The funny thing was that when I was taking these photos I went back to my camera to look at them, but still wearing my sunglasses, they had a sepia tone, and I loved it!! So I decided to edit these to have a little more sepia, a bit more of a vintage style to match the dress! It was listed on eBay as vintage, and I’m not sure what era, but it seems to be handmade – it’s beautiful material. Anyway, here’s where I spent my day yesterday:
Today has not been such a nice day – it’s still fairly warm, but I definitely need tights now! I’ve spent the day shopping with my sister in York, she and my parents are going on holiday for a week tomorrow and I’m looking after the house and pets for them (a little daunting really!!), so she wanted to pick up a few things before she left. I also happened to pick up a few things too =/ Maybe I’ll do a haul post tomorrow!! I’m really excited to wear everything I got (which includes a dress, shoes, and make up!).
The cold I mentioned has also got worse today – it’s developed into a nasty cough =( Before it wasn’t really a bad cold, at first it just seemed a bit like hay fever or something, but today it’s a lot more of a sore throat and rattly cough. This morning I even thought I had a chest infection because I woke up at 6am barely able to breathe and almost choking with a horrible pain in my chest. It’s not feeling as bad now, but shopping was quite difficult with it!
Cardigan: George at Asda
Dress: Vintage via eBay
I’m hoping I feel better for tomorrow to make it to our mini blogger meet!! I’m so excited about meeting these girls, but I don’t want to pass any dreadful illnesses on to them!!
I also may have some exciting news to share soon, not sure yet if it’s going to happen or not, so I’m not sure I want to share it, but I will let you know!! As I’ve mentioned before, I currently have an offer from Durham University to do an MA in Museum and Artefact Studies, but that may yet change – I’ll just have to see what happens!! Sorry to be so cryptic, I’d love to share it with you, but there are some things I’d like to keep to myself for now!! But you will know soon whether it does or does not go ahead =)
