On Friday, I went shopping with my sister in York – I managed to get some lovely things (including an amazing dress from River Island), and some new make up too. I’ve been wanting to get hold of some new make up for a while, and I finally got some of the things I wanted, so I’m going to do some reviews of them, because as well as wearing clothes, I also wear make up, but hardly ever talk about it!! Unfortunately I’ve been very ill over the weekend, I thought it was the worst day on Friday because I had this awful cough, but each day it’s got worse, and today I feel so ill. It’s definitely some sort of flu, I’ve got all the cold symptoms, but I’ve also had a complete loss of appetite and over the last couple of days started feeling really sick constantly along with a high temperature. It really doesn’t help that I’m currently house and animal sitting for my parents which means looking after a big house and three crazy animals, walking the dog twice a day. This morning’s walk was awful – I was almost being sick every few steps and just crying the whole way!! It doesn’t help that I have a horrible phobia of feeling/being sick, so I get myself in a panic which makes me feel worse.
Anyway, these outfit photos are taken in the centre of York – Beth and I wanted them to look ‘street style-y’, and I think they kind of do! As we were taking them though, a man came over and asked if we wanted to go for some professional photography for a small price – I felt like pointing at the camera and being like, excuse me!! But of course I’m no professional haha =D
Anyway, I’m going to do another post maybe later or tomorrow because I have some beautiful photos to show you and some news to share (you may have already seen it on my Twitter), but here are some more pics of me and Beth, and my little make up review.

I’d been wanting some gel eyeliner with a brush for a while – I’ve always used either kohl or a liquid eyeliner, but in the last couple of years I’ve hardly ever worn eyeliner because it makes my eyes disappear a little, if I do wear it everyday now, it’s usually a brown pencil one. But I’ve been looking at some 50s style make up tutorials recently and a lot use gel eyeliner with a brush, and it just looked so easy to use! Originally I was planning to get the MAC one, just because that’s the only one I knew, but when Beth and I were in Boots, I spotted this one as part of the 3 for 2 offer they have on pretty much all their make up right now. Since Beth wanted some foundation I thought I might as well get it, and we got another thing to share too since it was 3 for 2 (that’ll be reviewed another day!).
Now, correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe the MAC one cost £14 and doesn’t come with the brush, whereas this was £7.99 and came with a brush. It claims to last 24 hours, and though I haven’t yet tested it on my eyes (too ill to even go near make up), I can believe it, since the test I did on my arm took ages to come off. I rubbed it about 10 seconds after I’d applied it and it didn’t budge – overnight, still there; next day I had a bath and it was still pretty much there, just faded! It only came off when I actually rubbed it in the bath!! I’m sure it will come off easily with make up remover though. The brush seemed to apply it in a very fine neat line too, which could also be made thicker if needed. I’m really looking forward to actually trying this on my eyes, but it could be a while yet!!
This is such a pretty outfit 🙂 I’m in love with your bag!
I really hope you start feeling better soon! Love the colour of your skirt! 🙂 I have used this gel liner before and it is really good 🙂
Love, Rachel
You look great, I love York its where I’m from 🙂 x
I’m sorry you’re feeling ill again, you always seem to be sick, poor dear 🙁 I sympathize though… my stomach suddenly decided that it didn’t like taking my vitamin D in the morning with everything else anymore and it started making me violently ill. I was walking to work last Friday and wound up having to duck behind a building to shamefully be ill, it’s so not fun. I was never big into eyeliner and only recently started wearing white on my lower lid. I always feel like I’m wearing a mask or I should be in a goth bar with black eyeliner haha.
You look so pretty! Hope you had fun in York! I tried this liner but I didn’t really take to it, found it a bit too hard to apply x
cute outfit, i love the floral tote!
Chic on the Cheap
Cute outfit! I can’t wait for the review! I’ve been so curious about this product because just like you, I’ve been wanting gel eyeliner for quite sometime now!

I love your outfit. The blue skirt is an amazing colour. I’m not good with eye liner at all but I wish I was 🙂
I hope you feel better soon! Sounds like you’ve had an awful weekend. Take care ok?
