This season I’ve been all about my pastels, I mean look at the photo above, it can’t get any more pastelicious than that, can it?! I know some people might hate this trend, and several people are a bit impartial to it, but pastels have always been my favourite – give me a dusky pink or baby blue any day!! Not even during Spring or when it’s ‘on trend’, so I think I’ve really just taken the opportunity of it being a trend to really play around with it, especially in the beautiful weather we’ve been having recently! It all started with this amazing pink blazer I got from Primark in February, seriously just look at all the ways I’ve worn it in the last couple of months, and this is only on my blog, I’ve worn it countless times when I haven’t blogged too!!
So you’ve probably noticed I love the pink pastels trend =D This includes all shades from a light baby pink to sunset pink to coral, here are more pictures of how I’ve worked that:
And above we have the incorporation of blue too – I’ve never been a big fan of blue, but I’ve noticed it in several of my outfits, never exactly as my favourite stand out piece, but often something that just goes with everything, or that I seem to pick up multiple times. Then blue very closely fits in with green right now, for example, the aqua Matalan jeans above and the Primark mint pleated skirt. Ah we finally got to mint – how I love mint!! Mint was never really a colour on my radar before, but when I noticed a gap in my wardrobe, it was immediately filled, first by the pleated Primark midi skirt, then this beautiful dress from River Island. And of course the mint sunglasses which I seem to have paired with pretty much every outfit recently (need to get myself a different pair to mix it up a little!!)
And finally, a colour which I thought I was lacking in, but seem to have picked up in a colour of outfit photos – lemon yellow, first in this Matalan colour block pastel top (which has all my perfect shades in!!), and in my beautiful 50s lemon print Primark dress, so cheap (£3!), but the best dress ever!!
So what do you think?? Do you love or hate pastels?? I know there are some of you out there who hate pastels and would never wear them, but personally, as you can tell, I love them!! It seems to me that instead of ‘following’ trends, I pick up on colours of the season – Autumn I was all about rust and autumn leaf colours, Winter it was darker reds and greens, Spring it’s pastels, so what will Summer bring?? At the moment I’m thinking bright colours, but I kind of give up on most things apart from denim shorts, vest tops and simple dresses in the hot weather!!
Love,
I love pastels what a bargain dress 🙂 x
I really love pastels but don’t really have that much stuff in pastel shades. I love that blazer, I was looking in Primark for it today but the Primark where I live is horrendous and I can never find anything!x
I reeeeally love this post. I love pastels so much! You really rock them! In fact, when I had a freak out that I wouldn’t suit pastels now I’m brunette I thought about how good you look in them!

I like pastels in small amounts though. You are the pastel queen though!

Love pastels.. they’re just so pretty!
I love pastels too! And that dress from River Island looks amazing on you!
These looks are all amazing on you! I especially love the fruit dress, the striped shirt and pink blazer, and the minty skirt and white top. Totally gorgeous!
I´m not a pastel friendly (?) but i would totally wear the 2nd and 3rd look!

Pastels look SO great on you! I don’t think I have anything in pastel come to think of it!! Although I do love a beautiful light yellow 🙂
Love, Rachel

I think they look nice, but I’m not a huge fan of them for myself. I feel too frilly and girly and delicate, and I prefer earthy and wild, or retro 🙂 I’m still happy to see them styled awesomely on other folks though!
