Red and Black

Firstly I have to apologise for the fact that I look like I’m falling asleep in the picture above – not a good look, but I wanted to use this picture because I didn’t get many full length face on shots today!!
Secondly, yay!! An outfit post!! I managed to hand in another 2 essays today, just one more to go now, and 5 exams. Unfortunately though I cannot start that essay due to problems with my tutor not liking the fact that I had to miss his classes due to illness, a funeral and a job interview; first he didn’t tell me what the essay was and I ended up having to complain about him to the university and get all sorts of people involved. Now he’s finally told me, but told me I need to read an ‘inaccessible’ essay which he has but only gave out in the class, then forgot to leave in his door for me, so now I have to wait until Monday to be able to read it and see him. I needed this weekend to do it, but now I’ll just have to do the whole thing on just Monday and Tuesday – great.

I thought I’d share these pictures to show you that I’m not always moaning and miserable!! First picture is all our animals at home: the fat black cat, Maisy, the dog, Lottie and the kitten, Hollie. You might remember Hollie from this post just after she came to us. My dad rescued her from the back of our bakery, where she was about a day off starving to death and very poorly with cat flu, and this is her now!! She’s grown up so much!! The second picture is one of her first trips outside – we have to keep a close eye on her so she doesn’t run away and escape, but she loves it!! She just had ‘the operation’ on Tuesday, and apparently she is really cuddly to everyone at the moment. I can’t wait to get home and see her =D

Necklace: Primark (similar here)
Red Top: Primark (similar here)
Belt: Topshop (similar here)
Polka Dot Midi Skirt: Vintage (from Charity Shop) (similar here)
Red Flats: New Look (similar here)
Lipstick: MAC Vegas Volt
I got this basic t-shirt the other day in Primark because I bought a pair of cropped trousers from H&M and decided I needed a red t-shirt to go with them. It wasn’t until I got home that I realised my double u neck dress from American Apparel doubles up as a t-shirt!! However, this one was only like £2.99 and it’s a slightly more coral colour, the AA one is properly bright red.
This skirt I have only worn once before on my blog I think, here, but I did mention it a long time ago on a post as well!! I bought it quite a while ago from a charity shop with the intention of shortening it because midi skirts weren’t ‘in’ then – but I decided to leave it as it was, and I’m glad I did. I’m starting to think more about ‘teacher style’ now – clothes will have to be around knee length I’m thinking, and relatively smart, so I think this will be a good piece to have around!
And the shoes are super old too – I remember I bought them to go with a strapless red and white butterfly print dress I have, and I think I got that when I was about 14, so these could be up to 7 years old!! And one of my best friends used to wear them a lot too, so they’ve had a lot of wear over the years but survived well =D

Great outfit and lovely photos, I particularly like the ones of you leaning with the tree. I have such a hard time taking photos in movement without having some freakish expression on my face. That’s why my poses are nearly exactly the same in every, single, post haha.
