These are some more really old outfit photos – they’re from just after I got back from Turkey when we had a spell of nice weather! We’re really lucky in that we live in a little dip and our garden is very sheltered so it catches the sun and heats up very quickly then holds the heat, which is lovely on days like this one. Unfortunately because of the trees we also lose the sun fairly early when it disappears behind them and shade takes over the garden, but during the day it is lovely.
I was super excited to wear this two piece playsuit from Topshop – I took it on holiday and planned to wear it there, but Ben didn’t want me to wear it into town because of the men!! So I ended up only being able to wear it properly when I came home! I think it looks really retro, I can imagine it’s something my grandmothers might have worn in the 50s or something. It also kind of reminds me of Lolita, hence the title, because obviously a 12 year old girl is an appropriate style icon!! In fact if you take a look at this post, there’s a picture of Lolita in an awesome white playsuit that’s very similar.

There’s a little story behind me buying it, because I was in Topshop in Newcastle on a final shopping trip with a couple of my home friends that live up there and I spotted this playsuit – I just couldn’t not try it on!! So as we were heading towards the changing rooms with a pile of stuff, a woman popped her head out of a door to the side and asked if we’d like to try our things on in there. It turned out to be a room for the Personal Shopping assistant to help you in, but since she had no bookings, she offered it to us. It was a lovely room with massive mirrors and sofas and whatnot, but once we’d tried everything on, it turned out we didn’t really want to buy anything!! I did love the playsuit when I tried it on, but wasn’t sure if I would wear it. But we decided we couldn’t leave without buying anything, and after some persuasion from my friends that I would wear it, I decided to get it! And I’m so glad I did because it’s so cute! Just need to find some other places to wear it now!!
So this isn’t the most exciting outfit ever, I mean I didn’t even have to pair it with anything, I was even too lazy to put shoes on!! All I’ve put with it is my everyday jewellery (necklace, ring and watch, and the summer addition of an anklet). But the playsuit really speaks for itself I think, and anything you put with it would just draw away from it.
Also let’s have a little life update now since I haven’t really talked much about what I’m doing in a while! It was one of my home friend’s birthday last week, so we managed to get a good group of us together, including one friend who moved down south a few years ago so it’s very difficult to see her, and we went out for a meal at a local pub. Then yesterday we also managed to get a few of us together again to meet up in York for a nice lunch at Pitcher and Piano then a quick bit of shopping and cake before our parking tickets ran out!! It was so lovely to see everyone, and to get so many of us together at once!! It’s really difficult to all be around at the same time, but we were quite impressed that we managed it for once, although there were a couple of us missing.
And now, I have about a thousand eBay things to package up and send off, so I suppose I’d better get on with that!!
