The Big Move

Well, I’m back!! Did you all miss me?! I hope all my scheduled posts kept you entertained (thank you so much to all my lovely posters!). This is really just a super quick update – you might remember that I told you before I went away I would have a crazy time when I got back! I landed yesterday about midday in Manchester after an 8 hour flight from Vancouver to a time difference of 8 hours (not so fun), drove the 3 hours home and unpacked before seeing Ben again, then repacked a lot of stuff for today: The Big Move!! Ben and his family had already taken pretty much everything up, but I had all my books and clothes to take up. So this morning Ben somehow managed to wake me up at 6.45am (crazy I know!), and by midday we’d set off up to our new house. It’s only about an hour away from home, but to get there I have to drive on a 3 lane motorway for a while, an extraordinary feat for someone who’s only just started driving on 2 lane roads!! So basically I’m now blogging from my new house at my new desk!
Ben and I have spent the afternoon doing the final bits of unpacking and building my desk and a chest of drawers, he bought them in IKEA while I was away so we had to make them ourselves, and I actually had quite a bit of fun doing it! Despite getting, ahem, a few things backwards!
And my holiday!! I had an amazing time!! The photo above is from Mount St. Helens, one of our stops along the way, but don’t worry, there’ll be a lot more photos to come and a lot of stories!! We travelled Canada and America in a camper (RV) starting in Vancouver, heading over to Vancouver Island, down the coast of Washington and Oregon then back up through Seattle and into Vancouver again. Unfortunately Michelle and I didn’t get to meet up as planned =( It was such a shame because we were both really excited about it, but travelling distances and work got in the way.
Well anyway, I have uni tomorrow (one day a week at Sunderland for my teacher training) and I start my job on Tuesday, teaching 3 hours on my first day with only a day of teacher training under my belt, it’s exciting but I’m pretty nervous!! I’ll be back to you as soon as I can with updates, but I’m not sure how it’s going to go – it looks as though I’ll be out of the house from 7.30am to 5.30pm (ish) everyday and very likely doing work when I get home too, so I’ll be pretty busy, but I hope I won’t abandon you all completely! I’ve got my own little study now in the spare bedroom which is super exciting (I’m secretly planning to turn it into a blogging room too but don’t tell Ben!!), and hopefully I’ll be able to take pictures in our little terrace or the shared courtyard at the back of the house, so it shouldn’t completely limit my picture taking! We’re also right next to the village green so if I’m not too nervous that’s another option =D
Right, better go finish unpacking my clothes now! I’ll try to get some pictures around my new house because at the moment I’m super proud of it because it’s all new and fairly tidy, not sure how long it’ll last!

Love,
