Can anyone resist sparkles, really?! I know I can’t! Whenever I walk into a shop around Christmas time, I tend to veer straight towards sequined and bejewelled items, no matter how tacky they look and how awful the item under all the sparkle might be! But this dress is another matter altogether. It’s another dress by my all time favourite dress retailer, Jones and Jones. I was asked to pick one out for their Blogger of the Week feature (will let you know when it’s up of course!) and this one just jumped out at me. I did plan to wear this to the Northern Bloggers Christmas Party, but as you all know, I was too poorly to make it, so ended up dressing up in it to take these photos then taking it off again =( But it is a real outfit that I planned to wear, and plan to wear it for Christmas Eve when we have a get together with my family. I had a choice of several different dresses for this, but just had to go for the Vivienne in Black and Silver with its sequins (perfect for Christmas), the sticky out skirt with little knife pleats, and of course the deep V back. The poofy skirts and amazing backs of the Jones and Jones dresses just have to be my favourite thing about them because it just makes them so different and stand out from the crowd. I could just buy every single one of them, honestly!
I went a bit mad with the photos for this post, but I wanted pictures from all angles and with the different combinations of with and without jacket! Again, I stole my mum’s shoes for this outfit! I went Christmas shopping with my sister today and I was on the lookout for shoes like this too in amongst the crazy present finding, but with no luck. So I’ve just gone for it and ordered that pair from Tesco that I showed you yesterday – I’ll just have to hope I like them, I’m pretty fussy about boots! If I had worn this to the Blogger Christmas Party, I most probably would have worn higher shoes, but I didn’t want to overdo it for just taking pictures in my driveway and draw attention away from the dress. But I thought the leather jacket was the perfect cover up for this, hitting at just the right length to accentuate the pretty skirt.
Dress: c/o Jones and Jones
Jacket: Matalan
Ankle Boots: George at Asda (my mum’s!)
I’m off for my pre-op appointment tomorrow, and only 3 days until my operation now. Despite being a bit scared about it (the IV!) I actually kind of can’t wait for it to come, just to get this ridiculousness over with! It’s morphed into a new pain over the last couple of days, instead of being centred on my gallbladder, it hurts all over my abdomen with a general cramping pain, but it’s not as severe as the attacks I get. The other problem is that it’s made my stomach super bloated! I look really weird considering I’ve lost weight because of it but have a really bloated tummy, it feels and looks weird! But only a few days and all that’ll be over. Apparently I should feel better immediately, then it’ll only take a week or two to get over the operation and whatnot, and I should be better than I have been for the last few years, can’t wait!
Anyway, hope you enjoyed the pictures of this dress here because I love it so much, although taking the pictures was definitely a little chilly before any of you ask!! I’m babysitting my two year old cousin tomorrow morning which is exciting, and I still have some lessons to plan and send off to school, so I’d better get on!

I can hardly resist sparkles either! And I really like the combo of the jacket with the dress–it tones down the dress a little without taking the fun of it away!
Beautiful pics.
