Yes, I know – this outfit looks horribly frumpy in these pictures! But I wore it and managed to get some time to get photos, so you’re seeing it! I don’t think, at least I hope, it didn’t look as frumpy in real life…I did have the cardigan undone the whole day until just before the pictures because the blouse had sort of loosened from wearing it all day and kept ‘poofing’ up over the top of the skirt’s waistband, so this was an attempt to control it. Unfortunately, it just looks a little bit grannyish! Never mind!
I wore this outfit to work one day last week (when it was still chilly…not anymore!). Then my parents came round to drop off some things for our new house and we went out for a meal at a local pub with them, where I ended up just wearing this anyway! We’re well on the way to being finished with sorting out our house – nearly all of the boxes are unpacked, my clothes are all away in the wardrobe again and we now own a lawnmower and a strimmer for the garden! We’ve got a few other things too that seem trivial but are very exciting, such as a big clock to go over the mantelpiece and a doorbell!
Cardigan: George at Asda (similar here)
Blouse: Matalan (similar here)
Collar Pins: c/o Eccentric Fox
Polka Dot Pencil Skirt: Primark (similar here)
Black Flats: Dorothy Perkins (exact ones)
I’ve wanted some collar pins for ages but never been able to find any that I liked or were in my price range. So when Zoe at Eccentric Fox asked me to pick a few things from her site and I saw these, I just had to get them! Zoe used to work at Bronco, where I work now. In fact she only left a few days before I started, so I’ve heard her name a lot around the office but never met her, but of course I was happy to help her out! I was SO impressed by the range of amazing jewellery at some fantastic prices on her site…I’ve already got another outfit photographed with a necklace from her and have another couple of pieces to show you. And all the 4 pieces I got would have cost me less than £15 in total yet look (and feel!) on par with Topshop jewellery!
We had a lovely bank holiday weekend by the way, with some amazing weather! I have some outfit photos from over the last few days to show you, but we had a BBQ with my family and Ben’s sister and her boyfriend in our new house, which was very exciting since they hadn’t all seen it yet. I’m planning to get some pictures up of the house too soon because it was completely empty when we got it and we’ve already filled it with our stuff. We just need some garden furniture now as we had everyone sat on my parents’ chairs and took the dining table outside! As of today though we have internet again, so I’ll hopefully now be back for good! It was quite nice not to have internet for a while, although a little strange. I was glad I could at least get on to my emails on my phone and had that for emergencies (such as looking up how to hang curtains!). We’re planning to spend less time doing internet things on evenings in future though, so I’m going to start scheduling blogging time more often…it’ll hopefully mean I’ll be a lot more reliable, but you should all know me by now and know that won’t really happen! I’ll definitely be back soon though!
