Floral Transitions

It may possibly, finally, be Spring…maybe just! It hasn’t been warmer than maybe 15C, but still, that’s better than snow and freezing weather. I’ve only had one day so far this year without a coat, but we’re getting there! I haven’t really felt like transitioning into spring clothes at all this year, not at all like last year when I was obsessed with pastels. I think it’s probably due to the weather being so rubbish, I just haven’t felt like wearing anything except layers! And I’ve even been sticking to dark coloured clothes too, I know, crazy for me!
So anyway, we’re in our new house now, yay!! I was really really sad to leave our old one, but it was just a little too small for us (and all our stuff…) plus it was out of the way for work for both of us. I’m now travelling half the distance to work which is really nice. It only takes a few minutes less than it used to, but it’s a lot less miles and on country roads rather than motorways. We haven’t quite unpacked yet…my wardrobe isn’t even built yet! But all the important things are out like the kitchen stuff, sofa and bed. Our bedroom is so much bigger here too which is really weird but lovely! We haven’t got internet yet though which is kind of annoying, but it’s been nice in a way to be a little bit disconnected…but also really weird. I’m ‘home home’ for the weekend with my parents, so stealing their internet to sneak a quick blog post in, I bet you were starting to think I was abandoning you all!

So, I thought I’d try and get a little bit spring like today with my floral blazer. I’ve worn this far too many times already, but it’s really easy to wear with plain clothes and dresses, and smartens up a pair of jeans a little. This is a typical workwear outfit for me at the moment, how much I’d like to be wearing prom dresses from New Look for work, it’s really just not feasible at this time of year! Then again, we have a very relaxed dress code at work. The office is pretty much filled with men who all wear jeans and polo shirts or T shirts, and only a couple of other women. So I tend to wear just anything really, some days I’ll wear jeans with nice tops, others I’ll be in pencil skirts or floral dresses. It’s quite nice to have the freedom to dress down or dress up depending on my mood.
Some of these pictures came out a little strangely, hazy for some reason. Ben took them for me this morning before work (I know, I’m amazed I had time too!). This is probably the ‘freshest’ make up I’ve ever had on here, considering I’d only put it on about 10 minutes before, but it all disappears after like an hour or so! I don’t wear very much on a day to day basis at all any more. In fact I only wear mascara on my eyes, foundation, blusher and lipstick, and that’s pretty much it! I’m too lazy to do otherwise.
Anyway, I’ll hopefully be back soon. I have Disney photos to share, some reviews to get up (including my books for the last month), another set of outfit photos from the other day plus my America holiday photos from last year!!
