While this dress isn’t technically a pinafore dress, it’s really about as close as I’m going to get. It doesn’t have the narrow front and back with big gaps for the arms, but you can wear a blouse underneath enough that it gives it that pinafore look, but is a little more flattering on me. For some reason, I just feel like they’re not particularly flattering on my figure, probably something to do with the fact that they leave a massive gaping bit at the side due to the size of my bust! I bought this dress last year, at the same time as the blouse actually now I think about it, while we were in America on holiday/ In fact now I think about it, I believe I tried them on together thinking they would work in an outfit like this and only just got round to it. Well, I got there in the end! I remember thinking I could layer lots of different blouses under it and it would be appropriate for teaching wear with blazers too, but I think I only wore it once in my 8 months of teaching.

I’ll tell you a secret about these shoes…they’re actually kids’ ones! This is my new awesome secret with shoe buying for a few reasons. Teens’ shoes in New Look (and other stores too I’d imagine) run up to a size 6 – luckily I’m a pretty average sized 5. I’m surprised at them going up to a 6 really, but there you go. Also, because of the fact that they’re technically for children, they’re a lot cheaper plus the heels are lower. I’ve been on the lookout for lower heels recently because, as I’ve said before, I like a little extra height at work because it stops my legs aching when I’m sat all day, but most heels are just high for everyday. I’m surprised that they even sell heels like this for kids to be honest because they’re about the perfect height for me, but at least that means I’m winning in some way! I’ll definitely be going back to New Look teens’ section for more heels in future!!
Right, I’ve been lazy again recently and keep forgetting to post. I’ve been trying not to use the internet too much on an evening since I spend all day on it at work, but that means I don’t get to blog much – I need to sort out some kind of schedule for working on the blog. I do have 3 more sets of outfit photos plus a load of other things to post, so I should really get on top of it all!!
In love for this outfit!
I love the pinafore, it looks great paired with that blouse x
Pinafore and dungarees seem to be here to stay this season. Love how you paired it with the blouse.

WHat a great trick to look in the kids’ section for shoes. Even though it is not technically a pinafore, it works really well as one. Very cute.
