Notice anything new? Maybe the header or the background? Or the entire design of my blog?! I’ve been thinking about getting a new whole new design for a while now and finally made the jump. I really loved the old header that my sister designed for me, but I’d had it a year and wanted something new, so I’m now planning on getting her to draw me a little picture to go with my About Me in the sidebar and possibly a blog button too, since I’ve managed to mess up my last one! I’d been messing around trying out little things in my design on a test blog for a while and managed to use most of the weekend just gone putting everything together. I ended up using a basic layout and adding my own stuff to it, so I’ve managed to relearn a bit of HTML! I used to know a bit from my teenage days when, like everyone else, I used to mess around creating websites and whatnot, except I wasn’t quite like everyone else because I wasn’t using Myspace but creating websites for Neopets…yep, that cool. And it’s not like I ever still go on there, ahem…okay, only every so often!!
Anyway, these photos are from a couple of weeks ago when the sun managed to break through a little bit and I went back to my parents’ for a day or two at the weekend. This is probably the day we had pizzas, but I am being useless with my memory right now – I forgot my phone number this morning :/ I’ve mentioned before, but where we walk the dog takes us across some fields to a riverbed that dries up in summer, which means there are lots of interesting fossils – at least they’re interesting if you’re me and have a secret ambition to be an archaeologist. I haven’t found any Roman or Greek ruins down there yet though XD Beth and I decided to go on a fossil walk, and she told me to bring my camera along so we could get some photos too – she’s quite the talented photographer despite having had no professional experience in it. I actually took photos down in here in pretty much exactly the same outfit last year back in March when we had a spat of amazing weather while I was at home. It seems a long time ago now, but then again not really that long ago – I was at uni then, and now I’m out of uni and into my second real job!
Dress: Primark (not this dress, but Primark now available at ASOS)
Sandals: Moda in Pelle
Sunglasses: Free with magazine
So I decided to add some extra pictures to this post rather than just outfit photos – feel free to scroll straight past them if you’re not interested, after all, most of you are probably here for the outfit! Obviously it’s important to decorate the dog with buttercups when on a walk. Also, straight after the picture above, she ate that buttercup straight out of my hand – typical! She never was very clever – every single time we go to the seaside she drinks seawater or eats seaweed, she never learns it’s salty! And below is a picture of a rock filled with teeny fossils. I didn’t have a particularly successful fossil finding day, except for a massive lump of quartz I found. On other occasions we’ve found properly fossilised swirly shells (I know there’s a proper name, it’s just not coming to me!).
And I’ve got all the way here without talking about the outfit! It’s pretty simple though really and doesn’t need much discussion. This is a really lovely shaped dress – I got it in Primark early last year and have only really worn it a few times. It has a cut out in the back and a lining underneath the skirt, which is a nice touch for Primark. I could really have done with a colourful swatch watch to go with it, but I don’t have one, so instead it was the regular old jewellery that I wear day in, day out.
I just wrote a whole paragraph on my sandals before realising I was writing about the wrong ones! These are my old ones from last year that are starting to look a bit worn and grubby, so I recently bought some new ones from Tu at Sainsburys that are very similar. I thought I might as well because they were on sale! I wore these ones this day though because I didn’t want to mess up my new ones!
