You might remember that a couple of weekends ago I mentioned that I’d been to a vintage festival – well here are the photos! It was a little bit disappointing in the end because there was only a single tent of vintage clothing (behind me in the pictures), but that didn’t stop me buying! I ended up leaving with the amazing dress and matching jacket, another dress and a pair of shoes. I tend to find that even though there are plenty of online vintage stores out there such as Fever Designs, I prefer to buy vintage in person since the designs are often very different to what we have now.
We met one of my old friends from school there, who unfortunately I didn’t manage to get any pictures of because she left early. And my whole family plus my sister’s friend, Niamh, who you see in the pictures below, came along too. My dad and Ben spent most of the time looking at the vintage cars, while I wandered up and down the single tent of vintage clothing over and over again. Despite it being quite small, I kept managing to spot different things! I only regret not buying a real leather vintage pencil skirt – it was so soft and only £10, but for some reason I left it behind, aargh!

So the outfit for the day I decided had to at least have a little bit of vintage in it. I don’t own many vintage pieces (or at least I didn’t before this day!), but I got this dress from a small vintage shop in Durham back in October when my friend Charley was staying and wore it while she was there still (in this post: Two Friends). It’s a reconstructed vintage piece from a (possibly 80s?) drop waisted dress and a shirt which makes up the collar. I wasn’t sure about wearing the denim jacket with it because of the cropped style with a drop waist, but Ben assured me that it looked okay, so I went with it.
This is my new everyday bag by the way. I was previously using a Cath Kidston one that my grandma gave me as a present a while ago, and it had started to get a bit grubby from so much use! I’m really loving this one from Accessoryo though – it’s got a very sturdy shape, and I love the fastening too, so cute!

That denim jacket looks seriously gorgeous with the dress. So cute and summery. I never would have thought of pairing floral with floral – thanks so much for the inspiration!

That dress is gorgeous!! This looks like such a fun event! My Hubby and I love to go to antique car shows and I love a good vintage market too 🙂 Love that you mixed 2 different floral prints with your dress and bag.

You look beautiful! And looking back and regretting not buying something is so heartbreaking! I always ask myself when shopping, “Will I regret it for the rest of my life if I don’t buy this?” 😛 Silly, but it works!
