I’m catching up slowly with my posts at the moment – this outfit is only a week and a day old! I wore it to work last Monday. You might notice from my posts at the moment that the weather has started to look up…well, not just look up, be up! We’ve now had a good old British heatwave for a couple of weeks, meaning temperatures have been up in the high 20s and everyone has been overwhelmed by it all! This is the first summer I’ve had with a proper full time job, so it’s been a bit frustrating for me looking out the window at the blue sky and sun when every year of my life up until now I would have been out there in the sun. But it’s meant I’ve had to think a bit more about my outfits at work in the sun. As you know, it’s a pretty casual environment, but I still wouldn’t feel right being there in my tiny denim shorts. I have some shorts that I might wear for a couple of days, but I’ve been mostly sticking to easy outfits of dresses with wedges. I got these wedges at the weekend – I went down to Scarborough with my parents because they were going out that evening and needed some smart clothes that were lightweight for the crazy weather. It was pretty fun because I got to play personal shopper for my mum and pick out dresses for her. She doesn’t normally wear dresses, so I had fun pushing her to try them on! But I ended up accidentally buying a couple of things for myself including a dress in the Debenhams sale (which is amazing for the cheap price I paid!) and these wedges in New Look. I’d been wanting a strappy pair of wedges that were a bit lower than my old ones to wear for work for days that I want to walk into town, and these have already had excessive wear!

Lace Dress: Zara
Wedges: New Look
I was actually pretty good with outfit photos last week – I managed to get pictures 4 days out of 5 after work! Unfortunately my camera ran out of batteries on the 4th day and I’d lost the charger, so none on day 5. Luckily I’ve found the charger again now, but not the adaptor! I bought it in the US so need to adapt it for the UK plugs – annoying! But every outfit apart from one is with the wedges, and they’re all dresses. You’ll see those over the next week or so.
I’ve worn this dress a few times before on the blog – I’m starting to think it’s a little bit short on me, but I still love the scoop back and lace detail. I’ve worn it with a pink blazer and nude heels, denim jacket and sandals, and with tights and platform sneakers – which is your favourite way I’m wearing it? Those nude heels are my mum’s, but I bought my own pair recently and they don’t fit quite right, so I’ll be selling them soon – they’re brand new and in the box, so let me know if you’re interested! Oh and did you notice something different today? Yep, glasses! I was having problems with itchy eyes and contact lenses this day (hayfever?!), so decided to wear my glasses. These are fairly new and cost only £10, but I figured I needed some for days like that. Unfortunately I’m not used to wearing glasses so they made me feel a bit out of the world and dizzy, so I won’t be wearing them again very much – I think I’ll stick to my contact lenses!
By the way, I’ve added a little app at the bottom of this post so you can see where to buy the items I’m wearing in the post, or similar ones to those. Let me know what you think of it and if it’s useful! I would normally link to these next to the listings of where I bought things above, but I thought this might be better, we’ll see how it goes 🙂 I’ve also created a Pinterest board of where to buy what I wear – I tend to get people asking if items I’m wearing are still available, so hopefully this should help!
Love,
The dress is fab and great for summer. Hopefully the weather will continue to be as glorious as its been lately.
