Ice Diamond Curlers Review

Ice Diamond curlers review
Just a quick note before I start this post – I did the hair curling for this review after I’d washed my hair and got into pyjamas, so yes, I am wearing a onesie (from Tesco!) and I don’t have any make up on – you’ll just have to deal with it!
I’ve always had crazy problems curling my hair. I’m one of those girls that has ridiculously poker straight hair, but it’s also ridiculously thick – strange combination, I know. I’m not going to go into all the trials and tribulations I have with my crazy thick hair (I know it doesn’t look it, but believe me – every time I go to the hairdressers, I get the comment: ‘Oh my goodness, your hair is so thick! It doesn’t look it!’). It takes hours to dry (eg. I washed it at 6pm last night, didn’t bother to dry it and woke up with it still wet this morning – oh, this is a scheduled post by the way!) and it will not hold a curl. To curl all of my hair takes around an hour, hence why I don’t usually curl every single bit of it. And by the time I get to the other side, the curls have already mostly straightened. I got an Enrapture Totem Styler from my parents for my birthday last year, which is pretty awesome because you can set it to different heats and it gives you everything from tight curls to waves. Still, they didn’t last long, and I’d just resigned myself to the fact that my hair is not meant to be curled.
I was offered to try out this Ice Diamond curling wand*, and thought I might as well take it up, see if it would make a difference on my hair. And did it?

Yes! It did make a difference – in fact a pretty big one! The curlers can heat up to 230C, which is pretty hot. And that seems to be the trick with my hair. What was also pretty awesome was that they take less than 90 seconds to get to that temperature…whuuut?!
So with the super hot temperature, I’m sure it will be doing some damage to my hair, but don’t worry because I only use it very occasionally. However awesome and curly they make my hair, they still don’t lessen the time it takes, and I don’t have an hour to do my hair every few days. Yes, every few days, because these curls last a grand total of three days!! Seriously…I’ve never had curls that last a day before. See, third day curls (waves…):
OOTD, outfit of the day, denim jacket, jones + jones dress, flats
The curlers also come with a pair of little heat proof gloves that leave a couple of your fingers free for easy access to your hair but stop you burning yourself – a definite bonus when you tend to do that very often (I burnt my shoulder and left a blister there with my Enrapture curlers!).
I also used some Sebastian Professional Shaper Fierce hairspray* all over my head once I was finished with the curling to help hold them a bit, and I think that was one of the reasons the curls lasted so long in the end. I also used a heat spray before curling to protect my hair.

    Your hair is amazing Sian!
Although I don’t have the same length or thickness, my hair is poker straight and hates being made to try anything other than that!
These sound promising and your results look great!
