This post title is way too Halloweeny for my liking. Not that I don’t like Halloween, but it’s just so typically cliche in the blogosphere to go crazy for autumn and Halloween. Yes, I do love both of those things, but I don’t want to fall into being a very typical blogger and talking non stop about them – or the weather…because I never talk about the weather…! Anyway, the Haunted House is not so much ‘haunted’ – at least I don’t think. It’s actually my friend Charley’s house. Well, not her house yet, but will be one day. It’s right next door to where she lives at the moment (which has THE most amazing views over the North Yorkshire countryside) and will one day be a beautiful house, but at the moment looks a little creepy and haunted looking! She took these pictures for me on Friday evening when I popped over to see her. She’d had her tonsils removed on the Monday, and she was just about feeling up to seeing me on Friday, although she couldn’t talk very well 🙁 I provided her with grapes, olives and underwear, so I think I helped 🙂
This was just an outfit that was worn to work that day. It was a bit thrown together, but I liked it, so decided we needed pictures. Unfortunately it was getting dark and there was a storm on the way, so the light changes in all of them, but it’s an outfit nonetheless. And spot Hitchcock in these pictures! Okay, he’s pretty obvious in the one below, but he’s lurking around in a couple!
And you might wonder (or not – I’m not so interesting that you all spend all your time wondering why I’m doing things, or do you?!) why I’m posting in the middle of the day today? Well, you all probably know by now the issues I’ve had in the past with cystitis (UTIs) and the possible kidney infection I had a couple of months ago. I finally got it looked into a bit more, and the doctor was completely shocked that I’d never been referred to have it looked at – especially considering the severity of my symptoms (gory details here, but lots of bleeding and pain all the time when I have an infection) and the frequency, which is generally once every 2 months. So today I was in the hospital for a cystoscopy, which meant I had a camera inserted into my bladder to investigate and an ultrasound. It seems that there is nothing serious wrong (phew!), but I may need to have a minor procedure to relieve my symptoms and hopefully reduce the risk of future infections at some point. The cystoscopy itself I was kind of scared for, but it was all fine. I had it done under local anaesthetic and it took no more than 5 minutes. I was able to see on the screen what was going on and the doctor explained it all to me. Weirdly he even pointed out the site of my last infection (2 months ago) that was still badly inflamed and bleeding. So now I’m sat at home recovering a little and thought I might as well get on with a blog post. Luckily I don’t feel too bad because I didn’t have to be knocked out for it, but I’m pretty sore and a little tired! And that’s enough of my illnesses again, but don’t worry, I’ll be sure to update you soon ;D

Really like this outfit, and your post title has reminded me that I need to post some of my Halloweeny outfits. Not that I really have many, but I’ve been wearing my ghost jumper over the past weekend.

Ooh loving that skirt on you. And the house looks amazing! I bloody love Autumn, simply because it’s NEARLY CHRISTMAS. (Too soon?!)
