BEDN #3: Light

Light - tartan pencil skirt outfit
Black Cardigan: New Look
Grey Roll Neck Top: Zara
Studded Boots: Clothing at Tesco
Today’s topic for BEDN is light. And I was kind of stuck with this one! But once I finally figured out something to do, I saw Sarah had used her post to talk about candles and thought I should have done something like that – especially as I actually have some candles to blog about too! Never mind…so you probably haven’t figured out what the connection is to light here, it’s kind of tenuous – it’s lighting in photos!
Ben and I went for a drive around the area today and I brought along my camera thinking that we’d be able to get some nice pictures somewhere along the way since it was a nice sunny autumnal day. Unfortunately Ben decided not to concentrate very well and was in a rush (for some unknown reason?!), so I only got two usable photos. One looking into the sun, one away from the sun. And two completely different lighting effects. I always read that you’re supposed to take photos with the sun facing the subject, but the ones with the sun behind me actually looked a lot better (possibly because of the awful squinty face I had in the others!). Anyway, we only got 2 of those because Ben said it was ‘too silhouettey’. Anyway, I really liked the outfit, especially my new Matalan tartan skirt (yay!).
And some real life updates now, last night we were planning to go to the local bonfire and fireworks with my family, but there was a massive storm just before and I decided I wasn’t going out in that! So the family went, and Ben and I ordered a takeaway and we all ate it when they got back. Ben’s been working the last few Saturdays in preparation for starting his new job in a few weeks, so I spent yesterday (as you know!) creating my new lingerie blog where we’ll hopefully start posting this week. And today, aside from our drive around, I currently have cling film on my head as I’m doing my hair with henna again, and we have some jammy rock buns in the oven (recipe post soon?!).

Ahh lighting in photos can be the most annoying and best thing ever! But love these photos and your interpretation of light 🙂 Hope the henna turns out well!

Thanks for the link! I loved this post, lighting in photos is something I struggle with too – glad to know it’s not just me! Your tartan skirt looks amazing btw, and I may or may not have one sitting in my basket right now….. 😉
