F&F Alice Plunge Bra and French Knickers*

I’ve worked with F&F on various collaborations now including my recent denim look and my 7 Days of Summer 60s look, and I’m constantly buying off their site, but I’ve never tried out the lingerie before. Reason: I don’t fit into their sizes. But when they got in touch offering me a Valentines gift including my lingerie set of choice, I couldn’t say no and had to try it anyway! There are options such as Curvy Kate, but unfortunately none of those were near enough my size (currently 28FF/G). I explained to them that although there was nothing that would fit me in the price bracket we were given (up to £20), I loved their range of Valentines lingerie and was encouraged to give it a go in a size near mine. I chose the F&F Alice Plunge bra with matching french knickers in the end – there was a gorgeous mint polka dot balcony bra but I decided to go for the plunge in a 32DD which would be more likely to fit me a bit better.
I’m going to be doing a full review of the set at Big Cup Little Cup, so this is just a quick overview of it and the box of goodies, but it’s fairly obvious the fit isn’t right. Of course the band was too big, but it’s not especially obvious because the cups were also too small, meaning it was pulled tighter than it should have been round the front. The most obvious fit issues you can see here is the tissue spilling out to the side of the cup (28FF to 32DD means I was wearing a cup volume too small, 32E would have at least fitted cupwise); and the band being too big means that it slips down to much too low – you can tell there is very little support!
But aside from the fit issues, this is a beautiful bra and I wish it fitted me (especially for the price, I can’t get anything in my size at that price!!). The lace detailing that continues up the straps is very pretty and reminds me of coveted lace shoulder bras (such as the Mimi Holliday which I treated myself to post-operation last month!), and the lace overlay on the cups is gorgeous. Just one issue I have with the bra itself is the very stretchy shoulder straps – my friend Rosie, who I measured up as a 30DD from a 34C the other day, tried this on for size and found that even with the straps fully adjusted, they were still way too long, and were only half way adjustable.
We were also treated to a few other lovely goodies in our boxes including some Hotel Chocolat treats, Essie nail polish, Soap & Glory Glow Lotion and lip balm – I’m a very lucky girl to have F&F as my Valentine!
Charley also received a gift from them too and her review is up at Big Cup Little Cup already 🙂 Keep your eyes peeled for my more in depth one (I know, I bet you’re wondering how much more in depth I can get!!) there soon.

Aww, what a lovely gift from F+F though, I love their stuff. I really need to get myself measured again, it’s been so long since I last was and I have no idea what size I am.
A lovely gift 🙂 their items are so gorgeous xxx
