Sometime soon I’m going to have to be brave and get some photos taken at the new house – these are still from the lane outside the old house and I have at least a couple more sets of these to go, but then I’ll be out of them and forced into taking new ones. And this is scary. Why? Because our house fronts onto a green which is surrounded by houses – it’s very pretty and would be a perfect backdrop, but all the houses look out onto the green, and I’m not sure what my new neighbours will think of a crazy person running back and forth from a tripod! Plus the majority of them have children that play out on the green, so I’d imagine I’d gather a crowd of small people asking lots of questions!
Hey, look at this – it’s a sort of sensible outfit for me: I’m wearing a raincoat! Can you believe that I didn’t actually own a proper raincoat before getting this one?! Okay, so I probably have an old waterproof walking jacket hanging around somewhere at the parents’ house, but nothing that actually looks nice. But this one (from Joules) is actually pretty enough that I’ve been wearing it on days without rain…mostly because I generally refuse to go outside if it’s raining, until yesterday when I went out in it…without the raincoat. I’m clearly not doing well here! Don’t panic though, I stole my mum’s bright yellow one instead for the day ;D Anyway, this one has toggles around the neck, buttons down the front hiding a good, sturdy zip (seriously, how old do I sound there?! But really, what’s worse than a flimsy zip? Nothing, that’s what), plus it has a secret drawstring bit inside around the waist to give it a bit of shape…not that I remembered to pull that in here, but let’s forget that bit!

And yep, I know I only posted an outfit with these trousers like…1 outfit post ago, but they’re awesome, okay?! I am essentially wearing them constantly at the moment with a variety of different brightly coloured tops and jumpers. I wore this jumper once on the blog a while ago (okay, nearly 2 years, but who’s counting?!) – I do love it, especially the bright colour, the fact that it’s nice and soft, plus it was really cheap (from an outlet store on holiday), but I don’t love the three quarter sleeves. I just think that if I’m wearing a jumper, it’s because I’m cold and want my arms covered – seemingly I get most cold if I can’t pull my sleeves over my wrists and hands (probably thanks to my awful circulation!), so this just doesn’t cut it for me most days, but I can just about get away with it in spring.
So, how did everyone’s weekends go? I had a pretty awesome one – a lot less busy in terms of house moving, but I still did a lot of stuff. On Friday evening, I met my mum, sister, grandma, aunt, family friend and her daughter to go see Evita put on by our local youth theatre – bit of a girls’ night out seemingly! That was really good – we’ve apparently got some really great talent around here! The girl who played Evita was only 16, but you wouldn’t have known it.
On Saturday morning, Ben and I went to the BBC Good Food Show in Harrogate – we watched the Hairy Bikers on stage (awesome, of course), saw Mary Berry from behind (I gasped in excitement) and signing autographs, and saw Paul Hollywood being filmed (he’s a lot smaller than you’d think – I guess on TV he seems like such an imposing character, but he seemed smaller in real life!). We ate and drank lots of samples, bought a few things then headed over to my parents’ in the evening for a BBQ (not that the weather was good enough for that…). My dad also coerced us into watching Cabin in the Woods (anyone seen it?) which was, um, interesting…He has an odd taste in films! And finally on Sunday, my dad and Ben drilled a hole through our wall and plumbed the washing machine in, so my mum and I stayed out the way by going shopping. Despite the fact that I told her before we left that I was not to buy anything, I still managed to buy a new top and skirt by Collectif from Bowler Vintage, although to be fair, I did have a voucher for there that I’d had since Christmas, waiting for the perfect thing to buy! See my steamy (ooh!) swimming pool changing room (oh…) selfie from this morning for more of that outfit – yeh, I’ll try to get some pics of that tonight, if I dare!
And now it’s back to another busy week! I’m seeing friends for a meal one evening this week, going to the parents’ (again!) for my mum’s birthday, I’ve got Brownies one evening (and I’m being sucked into more and more of that slowly…), plus we’ve still got wardrobes to buy (mine fell apart as we tried to move it) and a room full of boxes to unpack. Ah well, we’re getting there – we’ve at least got our new sofas now, so there’ll be plenty more on that for you to see soon 🙂
I love these trousers, the print is amazing and it goes so well with the rest of your outfit! I just discovered your blog via Twitter and am already in love with it. – Tasha

Thanks Tasha! I’m a little obsessed with the trousers too, can’t stop wearing them 🙂
So jealous that you saw Mary Berry!! And I totally get what you mean about 3/4 length jumpers. If I’m cold and need an extra layer, then my whole arm needs to be covered, otherwise my inner thermostat gets confused. Haha
By the way, I was thinking I hadn’t seen you pop up in my blog reader for ages which seemed a bit weird so I clicked over to your blog on bloglovin’ and it hasn’t updated your site since 11th March?!? So I’ve missed a few of your posts, like moving house (Congratulations!) and your new walkaway dress. I see your blog layout has changed too! Very pretty 🙂 It might just be a problem at my end but I thought I’d let you know in case other bloglovin’ followers are missing your updates too.

Yes, I think my body’s thermostat must be in the lower half of my arms and hands!!
Ah no, that’s strange! I’ve moved over to WordPress but the domain and all that hasn’t changed at all, so there shouldn’t be a problem, but I’d say it’s probably not just you! Thank you so much for letting me know, I’ll get onto it later today and hopefully get it sorted 🙂
