Peak District Take Two

Our trip to the Peak District last weekend was the perfect opportunity to get a few sets of outfit photos – I had 2 separate outfits (3 technically, actually – I have another “outerwear” one on the way!), a camera, a photographer (Charley!) and a beautiful setting. Okay, the outfits weren’t the most exciting ever, but they were my real Peak District weekend outfits. You’re going to have to trust me though that the cardigan was only off for these photos (except for the one above) for a matter of minutes as it was so chilly, then I was layered up with a proper coat and my giant blanket scarf too!
The top is a new favourite – my parents got it for me for Christmas off my “ideas” wishlist of items I gave them. It’s the Cordelia top from Collectif, and having forgot what it looked like from the site, I actually put it on backwards the first time! Unlike my Bardot Jumper (also from Collectif), this one isn’t technically supposed to be worn the other way round, but for a risqué deep décolletage type look (ooh, my computer does accents!), it definitely works.
Returning to the present again though with my spiel – my family have gone away this week so Ben and I have been left in charge of the dog. We spent a couple of nights at my parents’ house so as not to upset the dog (and our cats – they don’t like their home being taken over!) so we cooked an awesome, if I do say so myself, lamb vindaloo via the Hairy Bikers, and basically spent Saturday doing nothing since they’d left the house clean and we didn’t have any “responsibilities” there – it was amazing, like another holiday! I basically spent the day reading.
The family didn’t exactly have a good start to the holiday though – we had a call from them in the early evening. Assuming they had reached their destination and were phoning to let us know, I started telling them how the dog was, only to realise that they were still actually on the plane. On the ground, don’t worry, they’re not that silly! They’d had 2 aborted landings at their destination and had been rerouted elsewhere – in fact, they didn’t actually know where they were. We looked online and figured it out for them, and a few hours later they were back on the way, but even so – scary stuff! I’ve also had news that today my sister has had a bad fall (they’re skiing) and hurt her knee, on the first run down too – definitely some bad luck, and I’m not even with them so it’s not me for once bringing that!
Anywho, hopefully they’re doing a bit better this evening. They were on their way out for tea when I spoke to them, so let’s hope that went okay! And tomorrow I’m dropping off the dog at the kennels sadly, as we both work too long hours to leave her at home at day.

It’s the background that makes it really 🙂

They might be simple outfits, but you look gorgeous in them, as usual! The Peak District is stunning too – I was there a few weeks ago! Bakewell, to be exact. 🙂

We always make sure to visit Bakewell too! Did you manage to get a Bakewell tart while there? If you’re a fan of vintage too, Mister B’s is the place to go!
