Wings Love Cotton Bralette Review

WingsLove Cotton Bralette review

So you all know I’m a pretty avid bra blogger over at Big Cup Little Cup, and bra fit is one of the things I’m most avid about. Unfortunately, simple bralettes aren’t often available in my size, no matter how popular they are at any given time. Right now, bralettes are the in thing and while I try not to be swayed by trends too much, I quite often am. Plus simple cotton bralettes always look super comfy too – you can’t blame me for wanting in on a trend that screams comfort!
A few months ago, I decided to take the plunge and order the ever popular Calvin Klein bralette along with a pair of shorts to match. And I absolutely love them – they don’t give me much support, if any at all, but they look super awesome and feel lovely to wear. I want to say “lovely to wear around the house” but who am I kidding? I’ve definitely worn it out of the house as much as any of my other bras!

When I got the opportunity to review the WingsLove Cotton Bralette, I was really excited as it looks a lot like the popular Calvin Klein one but is a lot cheaper at £9.99 compared to the usual £30 for Calvin Klein. It was also available in all the basic colours (black, grey, navy and white) in all the available sizes (small, medium and large) at the time I bought it, as opposed to the CK one which I have never been able to find from the right place in the colour I’ve always wanted – grey.

So I picked the grey option in a size medium, which is the same size as my Calvin Klein one. It states on the sizing that the medium should fit 32D-DD, 34C, 36A & 36B, but I beg to differ! I’m a 28GG and this is a really good fit for me – even better than my CK one. I’m going to say that their sizing works a little closer to what people perceive sizing to be (ie. most people would say I’m a DD by sight), so it’s definitely worth a go. I found that the stretch cotton jersey fabric used to make the main body of the bralette was quite a bit firmer than my Calvin Klein one, which means that it holds everything in place a bit more firmly – you can see I get more of a push up effect in the WingsLove bralette. The underbust elastic is a little on the large side, but I worry that sizing down to a small wouldn’t give me enough bust coverage, but fortunately it’s still a lot more support from the underbust elastic than I expected.

Basically, overall I’m really impressed with the WingsLove bralette and I’m planning to buy it in more sizes! These style of bralettes are perfect for wearing under tank tops with a little exposure for a sporty look, as loungewear at home, or just as a bra under regular clothing if you like. And I find that this one is a way better fit for me than Calvin Klein’s much more expensive version. Yes, you don’t get the Calvin Klein branding along the bottom elastic, but I’m not bothered by names anyway! I’d definitely recommend giving this one a go if you’re looking for something of this style.

PS: Apologies for the terrible quality photos – the lighting was really bad when I tried to take these in a rush, sorry!

This bralette looks like it holds everything in place which is something I need, I had assumed that this trend was something that would pass me by but will follow your link and give one a try. I had thought of making one too but not got round to it.

I initially ignored bralettes like this too thinking I wouldn’t find one that would fit my bust and underbust well enough to be comfortable, so I’m glad to have found this one that’s near enough! 🙂

Just bought one of these. Not for trend reasons, though they do look good (on you anyway!), but for something to sleep in at certain times of the month (soz, TMI!) when they are too sore to go without and I can’t hack underwires. The joys of being large chested! Thanks for the helpful review!

I really hope you like the bralette too – I can definitely imagine it will work well for what you’d like it for 🙂
