Is it just me, or is this a question you get asked more and more as you get older? “Are you ready for Christmas yet?”, “Have you finished your Christmas shopping yet?”, “What are your plans for Christmas day?” – not that I don’t like these questions, because I could talk about Christmas until the cows come home, but I’ve just noticed it being asked more and more lately!
I actually started my Christmas shopping in early November this year and managed to get a big chunk of it out the way then. I also created a spreadsheet, inspired by one of my colleagues, and filled in any missing gifts – any that are still missing have been marked in red for “urgent” now!
Last year my Christmas gift guide for men went down well, so I thought I’d share with you some ideas, in case you’re looking for last minute Christmas gifts or just want to be a bit nosy and see the gifts I’ve got for people. Some of the below are PR samples for review, but many are gifts I’ve bought for friends and family – I’ve had to strategically choose which ones to show so that the people who they’re intended for won’t see them, I know I’m safe with Ben’s gifts since he’s never read a single one of my posts in his life XD
Is it just me or are grandads really difficult to buy presents for?! One likes gardening, the other likes motorbikes and Yorkshire, but there are only so many things related to those you can buy for birthday and Christmas presents! I was really pleased to stumble upon and realise they’d be awesome for one grandad!
How cute is this Dinosaur onesie?! Ben’s cousin William is obsessed with cars and we usually buy him something car related, but we wanted to be different this year – I’m hoping he’ll love parading around on Christmas day in this!
A bobble hat is always going to be an awesome present around Christmas time, particularly for those of us that are always chilly! This is a more luxury version of a bobble hat, so for really good friends and favourite relatives only ;D
If you’ve got a man in your life with a sense of style, a flat cap like these would be a good option as an alternative for a bobble hat.
Speaking of being chilly, this “Baby it’s cold outside” hot drink cup from Paperchase is another perfect gift for chilly people during the festive period and those who love coffee and hot chocolate.
What would Christmas be without a pair of socks or underwear?! Last year Ben got some colourful ones from Debenhams, this year he’s getting these paisley ones from Next – I’m trying to save him from boring black underwear!
And also what would Christmas be without a good game to play?! We like traditional wordy games (although not Scrabble weirdly!), so this is like an updated and super fun version of those. Excellent gift to get the family together.
These are the perfect stocking filler for anyone who loves anything organic and sustainably sourced. This new eco-friendly coconut range is available to buy from Whole Foods Market, Planet Organic and various other independent retailers, and I love it! The pump bottles are really nice to have lined up in your bathroom and the scent is really lovely – fresh and nectar sweet, but not in the overwhemingly sugary way that you find in a lot of coconut beauty products.
What says what you want to better than a mug? This is perfect for me and Ben with our love of everything old person on TV (no, that wasn’t me who created a shared Google calendar for us featuring times that every murder mystery between now and February is on…), staying in and sewing, reading etc (at least on my part, he just likes car TV programmes!). And it has gold on it. Basically, it’s awesome, and they have other similar ones too.
Yes, I did buy a stocking for my cats – what of it?! And I know that you now desperately want one for your cats, admit it!
What gifts have you got this year? What are you hoping to find in your stocking?
If I had a cat I’d buy stockings too, haha! I love the onsie!
