I know, I know – I’ve probably called at least 20 outfits my “new favourite outfit” at some point on the blog. But this one is for realz. As in, I’ve worn in 4 days straight in a row (I’ve been wearing a different top underneath, I promise!) and am pretty certain I can’t get away with wearing it another day but am seriously considering it. I even managed to create my first outfit flatlay on Instagram out of it!
After my Style Challenge, I’m feeling a bit better about the state of my wardrobe. I’ve been pinning furiously to my Fashion & Style board on Pinterest and am feeling quite inspired by it. For a long time, I thought an outfit had to be something groundbreaking for me to feel awesome in it, but I’ve realised that actually, I feel really good in outfits that I’m comfortable in, even if (or maybe, especially if) that’s a classic combination of big jumper and jeans, stripy top and jeans, jeans and ankle boots. Notice a theme there? Also for a long time, I’ve considered jeans to be a cop out in terms of outfits – something to throw on when you’re having an off day and want something easy to wear. But actually, I’ve realised I really like wearing jeans and that I feel good in them, so why shouldn’t I wear them as often as I want to? Plus, there are lots of different types of jeans, like these.
These aren’t my typical jeans because they’re “mom” style. I’ve got one pair of what I call boyfriend jeans, even though they’re technically not quite baggy enough to be boyfriend jeans, but apart from those, up until recently I only had super fitted skinny jeans. Because I’ve got such an hourglass figure, I felt like I needed to wear only really tight jeans so that they would be flattering. But mom jeans have been really in recently and everyone was talking about how are like the best thing in existence and then so I just had to buy them to see what they would look like. And it turns out that actually, I really like them!
I should probably mention that, actually, the whole outfit is new. I’m not advocating only buy new clothes to feel good in them, especially since my style challenge opened up lots of my old clothes to me again, but this outfit just came together out of new clothes – oops! I’m loving big jumpers at the moment and once my drawers were emptier, it turned out that I didn’t have any thick cable knit jumpers. Plus I’d been seeing loads of blush pink around, so I bought . Also I’d wanted a belt to go with jeans for ages and decided, since I had a £25 ASOS voucher, I might as well get one now. The only problem with is that the tipping on the end of it, which makes it look awesome, doesn’t fit quite right through the loops on my jeans so is a faff to undo!
And finally the shoes…the shoes! I tried on right after Christmas in store but left them behind in favour of these ones. I took a picture though and kept coming back to it over and over. Then suddenly they were in the 50% off sale, with an extra 10% and I had a discount code for 10% off too – so obviously the decision was made for me! And I’m really really glad I got them now! I just need to figure out how to wear with anything that isn’t these jeans (or this whole outfit) – I will let you know when I do.

Such a great look, I love my jeans and wear them most days as they are easy, comfortable and practical for my work but I do stick with the same style, maybe be I need to break out a bit!

Thank you! Jeans can be really difficult to break out of a particular style with because it can often be so difficult to find the perfect ones to start with that once you do, you want to stick with them 😀
I love those boots! I’m so obsessed with the embroidered trend this year. What a wonderfully cosy looking outfit. Ps. I have the bedding that matches your cushions!

Me too with the embroidered trend – it’s one I’m loving 🙂
And secret time! The cushions are actually that bedding, just chopped up and made into cushions 😀 I wanted some yellow ones and had this single bedsheet that wasn’t getting any use (because we got rid of the single bed) so I repurposed it!
Love this outfit Sian! So comfy and casual. 🙂
I love the belt detail. I just bought a belt to try working with.. It’s not normally something I’d wear and generally like long fitting things to cover the bottom on my belly area.. But we’ll see. 🙂

I think a belt like this would work so well on you – I can definitely see it fitting into your style! Thank you 🙂 xx
