I’m feeling very impressed with how I’ve managed to keep up 3 days in a row of my Style Challenge, although the one I actually took this morning (this is being written on 4th Jan – how confusing!) isn’t quite so successful as my camera decided that it suddenly had no battery power left and switched off, so it was phone photos in the mirror in a poorly lit room – nevertheless, still outfit photos!
And I feel like this phrase applies here too – still outfit photos – as they’re, again, poorly lit thanks to the fact that when I took them it was around 7.30am and still pitch black outside! Ben and I did a major alarm reset for the New Year, so we’ve now got an alarm that goes off at 6.30am with Classic FM (it’s the best to wake up to, promise!), our wake up light comes on slowly then reaches full brightness at 7am when the song “Candyman” plays, which is our call to get out of bed. We’re trying to get up together (before I would lay in bed until Ben had actually left the house then would stumble out the door 5 minutes later…) then make a giant smoothie which gets divided up between us. Then Ben goes off to work and I finish getting ready to leave at around 7.45am. And during that time, I’m slotting in taking these photos, meaning I’m still somewhat groggy (I’m not a morning person!) and it’s still dark. Nevertheless, an outfit!
I wore this outfit for my first day back at work after Christmas on the 3rd Jan. As you know, my office dress code is casual – we can wear whatever we want basically. We have Bronco branded T shirts, polos and hoodies, so occasionally I’ll do the lazy thing and wear a Bronco tee with my hoodie and jeans. But when I started working there, I made a huge effort – I’d always thought offices were super glamorous so I had to look awesome too, but like I said, casual office. So I’m now learning to balance that!
So in reality, this is a fairly dressed up outfit for work due to the tight fit of the dress, but because it’s made out of jersey, it feels a lot more casual to me. I bought the dress for our trip to Cornwall actually with the smart-casual thing in mind. I wanted something that would be smart enough to wear to Rick Stein’s restaurant without looking over the top, had a bit of a twist (this does, literally!) but was still wearable afterwards too. It was only £15 ( actually!) and I think it worked perfectly! Plus the fabric is nice and stretchy so you can eat to your heart’s content – always a plus!

It’s the same at my office but I just don’t do casual, haha! Everyone sits there in hoodies and I’m like wearing heels and redo my lipstick all the time – do love the dress by the way! I am also so impressed by how organised you are in the mornings, I wanna be like that!
Super happy to have discovered your blog and thank for your kind words on mine 🙂

Glad it’s not just me! I feel like it’s so much more fun making an effort to dress up a bit 🙂
I’ve literally only done 3 days of being organised so far, so we’ll see how it goes – I’ve managed a couple of weeks before then given up, but I’m going to do my best to stick to it!
xx
Great out fit, smart casual can be hard to pull off but this perfect. I have one of those morning lights, I love it and wouldn’t be without it now.
