Mirror Selfies: January Style Challenge Day 4

Eek, I mentioned in my Day 3 photos that I’d had to take some mirror selfies of my outfit for Day 4, and here they are! I know, I’m not exactly keen on them either, but at least I’m keeping up with sharing my outfit AND blogging about it too – I can’t believe I’ve managed it so far plus a couple of days with extra posts too! That wasn’t something I had planned since I thought I probably wouldn’t keep up with taking photos so would need some more “lifestyle” blog posts to fill the additional days, but then it turned out that I have taken photos every day and I want to make sure I keep sharing them so I don’t get behind. So double post days sometimes it is! Take a look at my other Style Challenge outfits here.

was another pre-road trip purchase that featured on this wishlist and is getting quite a lot of wear – that’s the good thing about holidaying at home: the clothes I bought in preparation for it were for the UK climate so I can keep on wearing them. It’s off shoulder but you can’t tell with the cardigan on the top, the cardigan that I wear with basically everything!
I find that this denim skirt is a really good staple basic piece in my wardrobe. I throw it on with pretty much anything that goes with jeans on days when I don’t want to wear jeans, and it tends to work really well. I’m also very into the ankle boots with skirts at the moment which is a look I never used to wear at all before, so that’s interesting. And as a result, these ones are getting a lot of wear.
That’s another thing about the style challenge – it’s giving me lots of material for future “remix” posts where I can show when I’ve worn certain pieces of clothing several times on the blog and how to wear them in different ways.
And finally the brooch – see below for a close up. This came from one of the boxes from an elderly relative crammed with jewellery for us to choose from. I picked out a couple of pretty brooches like these. I think it’s got a bit of a 20s vibe about it, although I’m sure it’s not that old!

So today I’m looking forward to the weekend – we haven’t got a lot planned, but Ben’s working on Saturday so I’ll probably be spending a lot of time sewing and/or reading, my faves! Plus a lot of blogging too – I have a lot of boring “blog maintenance” to work on at the moment. And on Sunday, we’re over at my grandparents’ for lunch with the family, so that’ll be lovely. It’s nice to have a fairly quiet weekend after the rush of Christmas!

Fab outfit, the skirt is lovely and I wish I wore shorter skirts but after a few comments about my knees I keep them covered, knee length or just below (silly I know but once somethings pointed out you get self conscious/paranoid) brooch is gorgeous, it all works so well together.
