Woops, I’ve been sitting on these outfit photos for around a month and have only just got round to sharing them, eek! I’m blaming being ill, a mini break to Northumberland and then having to catch up from all that – hectic life! At least the outfit is still relevant though – we’re in that funny stage of weather at this time of the year when it’s not quite warm enough to wear something like this by itself (I layered up with a scarf and coat to go outside), but it’s slowly getting sunnier and warmer day by day. I’m looking forward to being able to outfits without boots and tights again, that’s all I can say!
This dress is a really easy one to wear that looks a little bit smart with its monochrome colour scheme, but with the shorter length and stretchy fabric, it makes it good enough for comfortable day to day wear. In fact, it’s a bit too comfortable and if I’m not careful, I could end up wearing it several days in a row! I’ve had it for a few years now – I wore it once before on the blog here – and considering it was an “accidental” purchase, as in I hadn’t planned to buy anything but I spotted it in the shop when I was wandering round town, I’ve definitely had good mileage out of it!
The denim jacket gives this outfit more of a spring feel than it would otherwise have, I think. I love to wear denim jackets in spring and summer as an easy cover up, and it’s been especially useful recently as I’ve been drawing away from wearing cardigans. I don’t know if it’s because all of mine are starting to look a bit shabby with over-wear or whether it’s because I’ve worn them so often that they feel too much of a “cop out” to wear, if that makes sense, but I’m trying to find other options instead of just throwing on a plain cardigan.
And now that I’ve finally managed to share this outfit, hopefully I’ll manage another good run of blog posts! I seem to be in the habit of getting out several blog posts for a week or two then not having a chance to continue with that – oh well, I enjoy it when I can get posts written up so we’ll see how it goes!
Oh and have you noticed anything new? Like the blog layout and theme?! It might not be that noticeable if you’re reading on mobile, but it looks quite different on desktop and I’m really pleased with it.

Great outfit, love the denim jacket with it, I have one but never think of wearing it, I like this is because I hate being cold and my big coat is so warm 🙂 maybe Spring will help (when it finally comes)
