How To Dress For An Occasion

Ingrid Dress Collectif - Keira Knightley Atonement Dress
When I couldn’t decide what to wear last year!

Learning how to dress for an occasion is a great skill to have. Not only because it makes your life a lot easier, but also because of the power it gives you. You will be able to know exactly what you need – when you need it, and this doesn’t just benefit you, but your friends too! So expect them to call you up asking for fashion advice on a weekly basis at least.

As long as you can understand your body shape, then you can dress accordingly. Here are some examples of the occasions you may have to dress for:

Beach

If you’re planning a vacation and need something to wear on the beach, then a bikini seems like the obvious choice. But one pieces have become so popular, and they’re just as fun, maybe even more so, while keeping you a bit more covered from the sun – I’ve got a swimsuit post coming up soon, so keep an eye out. Dressing for your body is key here, so you are able to hide any areas you’d prefer to and show off your features. Remember that sarongs are a fantastic way of doing this, and there are so many different ways to tie one – it doesn’t just have to be a simple wrap around your waist. These are also great is you want to grab a bite to eat but don’t fancy going back to the hotel to change. They protect your modesty, while keeping you feeling fresh under the hot sun.

Clubbing

We all know how important it is to look, and most importantly feel good when we go out. So it’s important to shop for something that does just that. When shopping, invite some of your girlfriends along for their honest advice, and the general fun of dressing up and putting on a fashion show. You want something that shows you off, but respects you too. If you have great legs – get them out! Bring out those killer heels and strut your stuff, and dance like no one’s watching.

All that’s left to do now is book a Toy Room table to be sure you have a place in one of the hottest clubs around.

Wedding

Who said girls have to wear a dress at weddings? Jumpsuits are so in right now and are perfect for this sort of event because you can get something that’s fitted to your body, maybe even with a slight padding around the shoulder area to give it even more of an impact, while looking fabulous. Choose a block color, as opposed to something with patterns; otherwise it may be too much to take in. A royal blue would be perfect for this look, paired with a simple stiletto heel.

Your Birthday

Today is all about you. So if you’ve been looking for a reason to wear that glittery dress you bought – then this is it. You can pretty much get away with wearing whatever you like, no matter where you go to celebrate. So go crazy and make a fashion statement that you may not be able to do on any other day that your Birthday. Stand out and be proud, girl!

Thank you! It’s from Collectif – I was debating over wearing it for my Christmas party last year but didn’t in the end as it was a bit too fancy, but I love it!
