Late 2017 Holiday: Italy #pradelletorri

You can tell that I’ve got holiday blues at the moment since coming back from Florida – I’m actually finding it difficult to put aside time to edit my photos and videos and to write blog posts about it because it makes me sad that I’m no longer there. But no fear because I’m filling my spare time with planning other things: honeymoon next year, possibly another yoga retreat later in the year, and a quick break for me and Ben in late 2017. As per usual though, I can’t make a decision to save my life, so I’m back on the blog to churn over some ideas (a few months ago I was thinking cruise) and maybe get some help to come to a decision! Today I’m thinking Italy.

I’ve been to Italy a few times and it’s somewhere I always love visiting. I’ve been skiing there when I was younger, stayed at Lake Como and Lake Garda, visited Rome, and last year we spent a couple of days in Venice. I think that Venice really is one of those places that you have to visit once in your lifetime. It may not be for everyone – it’s a very love it or hate it kind of place – but I really think it’s somewhere you have to see, slightly surreal, a little bit claustrophobic and different from everywhere else in the world.

You can’t blame me for loving Italy with my Classics degree and my obsession with anything ancient, particularly Roman or Greek, so I’m always up for a trip back to Italy. This time, I’m putting the spotlight on a resort near to Venice called Pra’ delle Torri Holiday Centre which has just been awarded Trip Advisor’s Travellers Choice 2017.

The resort is ideal for families and tourists alike, and is classed as being one of the best outdoor entertainment holidays. I’ve got to be honest, one of the main draws for me is the fact that it has its own private beach with a kilometre of golden sand, plus the fact that they also offer yoga in their sports centre, among a vast range of other activities. These include golf, basketball, skating (in their own skate park!), watersports, zumba and more – need I go on?!

One thing that really appeals is the diverse range of accommodation on offer in gorgeous surroundings too. You can choose from the hotel building with half or full board, an “aparthotel” (which is an independent unit), mobilhomes in the Village, a Bungalow, Apartment or just to camp. It definitely helps that the resort is set in 120 hectares of lush vegetation so the accommodation all feels private, spacious and peaceful. Something for everyone!

I talked in my Venice post a little bit about how to get into Venice, and it’s actually almost easier to get to Pra’ delle Torri from Venice airport than it is to get to Venice! It’s only 45km away and can be reached by car or by train. If you want to take some time away from the activities of the resort, it’s so close to the Venice lagoon that you can spend the day there, exploring the canals, eating the food, visiting the museums, then head back to your accommodation again, away from the hustle and bustle of the city in the relaxation of the resort. The surrounding area of Caorle (which is known as the pearl of the North Adriatic) also has various UNESCO World Heritage sites including Verona and Vincenza, lakes, mountains, lagoons, beaches and gorgeous sea. Seriously, what more could you want from a holiday?!
