I didn’t get a chance to mention before, but yesterday I got to attend my first real blogger event, the IFB Crystals and Crumpets event hosted by Swarovski!! I was super nervous beforehand about meeting a lot of people that I’ve seen on the internet lots of times but never met in person. Charlotte (above) from Girl Next Door Fashion and have been bloggy BFFs for a while, doing the Lovely Ones together and just generally being blog friends, so we decided we would meet up before the event started and head there together. Things apparently don’t go smoothly when we’re together, we ended up being in the wrong train stations with a conversation along the lines of:
‘I’m outside Burger King, where are you?’
‘Me too! I can’t see you!’
‘Wait…are you at Euston??’
‘No, King’s Cross!!’
Luckily we found each other in the end…then got lost again trying to find the place and ended up going back and forth on the tube a few times!! But we made it there on time in the end!! So I thought I’d show you a few pictures from the actual event today, then the outfit photos later or tomorrow because if I put them all in one post it would be a massive overload of pictures!!
A room full of bloggers!! It was so so nice to be able to talk about blogs and blogging as much as I liked to people who understood what I was talking about =D I met some familiar faces such as Vicki from
The Magpie Girl, Lily from
Llymlrs and Carrie from
WishWishWish, and some girls who I hadn’t come across before but were absolutely lovely! I collected a lot of addresses and blogs that I am still yet to check out, but I will be doing very soon =)
First, of course, there was blogger mingling and food!! There was a selection of sandwiches, scones with jam and cream, caramel shortbread and some little eclairs (that I never got to try!), as well as a massive bowl of fruit and little dishes of raspberries and blueberries.
There was then a discussion sort of thing where some top bloggers and others (Susie from Style Bubble for example) discussed blogs and business, and lots of interesting things that I’m sure will be really helpful towards my future blogging! Unfortunately we didn’t have a prime position in the seating so my photos were a bit limited and we couldn’t hear too well, but we did get sneaky pictures of my and Charlotte’s footwear!
A theme of the event was hats! The best hat was given a prize from Swarovski, and here is a picture of the winner’s hat above, Ceri from
Style Eyes Ethical Fashion Blog! I had a bit of trouble finding a hat because I never wear them! Apart from my straw sun hat (that I wore everyday in Greece!) and my woolly ski hat, I’m pretty sure I don’t own any hats, so I ended up buying one from Accessorize. You’ll see it in my outfit photos soon =)
And finally a sneaky peek at my and Charlotte’s outfits =) We couldn’t resist mirror pictures haha =D The event finished at around 2.30pm so we did most of our outfit photos after that, but a photographer man at the event asked Charlotte and I to go outside during the event to take photos of us. It was so much fun because all these people were looking at us like we were famous or something haha!! And his photos looked really good too, I can’t wait to see them =D
