Final

I should technically be revising like crazy right now – I’m half an hour off leaving to go to my final ever university exam, but I just can’t bring myself to try and stuff anything more into my head. I think I’ve reached the end now and just need to relax before I leave for the exam. I’m confused because once it’s over, in less than 5 hours time, I will have finished my degree. Wow. So maybe I should be using this last half an hour to revise?! I just don’t want to stress myself out too much, don’t want to wear myself out.
I don’t really have much to say today, for once, I think I’m already worn down by the last 6 weeks, which have been pretty much the most stressful of my life – I’ll list it once last time for you: 5 essays, dissertation, 2 days of job interviews, day of observing lessons, funeral, wedding, after-wedding celebrations, 5 exams (15 hours in total). And everything somehow managed to clump itself together – for example, one weekend was pretty much half of my deadlines, wedding/preparation for wedding/after wedding party at my grandparents followed by 2 days of exams.
Tomorrow I’m attending a blog event in Newcastle for Newcastle Fashion Week hosted by Chamilia, so that’s very exciting. Then this weekend I’m moving out of my flat, back home again for summer.

Necklace: H&M
Dress: c/o Vero Moda
Flats: Primark
This is a dress I’ve had for a little while now but not really worn because we didn’t have the right weather! Well, when it warmed up, it got too hot to wear it! I wore this a couple of days ago when it started to cool down slightly (now it’s cool again!). It’s a little big because it was a sample size medium and that was all they had, but I really love the print and when belted you can’t really tell it’s too big (apart from it falling down at the back but sshh haha!!).
I received this hair clip (along with some others) from Stone Bridge to do some product demonstrations – as yet I haven’t had time to do them, but I decided to test this one out here – hold this space and you’ll see the rest soon!
Better get going to the exam then, next time I talk to you all, I’ll have finished my degree and my university career.

Thought I’d do something a little different while I’m away: outtakes! When you’re a personal style blogger, you end up taking a lot of photos of yourself, obviously. Some turn out great, some…well, just not so great. And that’s what you’re going to see here: the real Sian who is actually terribly unphotogenic!! I’ve learnt…

  1. soo pretty.i love maxi dresses! it looks great on you. hope you have a great week, and a lovely time at the blogging event xx

  2. Best of luck with your final exam – I know what you mean about just not being able to revise anymore, you get to a stage where it’s like yeah this isn’t going to help me at all, so the best thing is just to chill out!I love the dress! Even though it’s a bit big it will be nice for summer as it’s more floaty and less clingy (I can’t cope with clingyness on hot days!) xx

  3. This dress is beautiful on you! Congrats on finishing your degree that is an amazing achievement!! xxx I thought I was busy with finals in the last few weeks It was nothing compared to what you have done!! 🙂 xxx

  5. Eep – good luck! I hope it goes fantastically. Have you got any plans to celebrate? Or maybe you’re just wanna sleep after all this is over. Have a great weekend, and I hope moving home goes well xo

  6. Your such a pretty girl, i love your blog but do you really have to take your photographs in a cemetery ? i find this so disrespectful to the dead.

    1. Hi anon,
I’m sorry you feel it’s disrespectful, but my flat is actually built on this churchyard, and the graves are from between 1700 and 1800, it is more a historical site than a cemetery. It is used as a ‘park’ where people walk their dogs, and I don’t ever go near the graves, walk on them etc. I’ve seen a lot of blogs where they actually climb on the gravestones and use them as props.
Considering that I live in the middle of the city, this is the only place I can take photos without having to walk a long way way. I know that the community like (and want!) people to use this churchyard for their own enjoyment, and if the community is happy with it, there is no reason for anyone else to be unhappy with it.
I understand that it might just be your beliefs and I’m sorry if it upsets you, but it is not a ‘cemetery’, it is a churchyard that is kept tidy for people’s enjoyment as a ‘park’, it just happens to have had people buried there 300 years ago.
Sorry to have offended you! I don’t mean to, but it’s really is the only place I can take pictures! I’m moving out this weekend anyway, but I will actually miss having this place to take pictures. I find it peaceful, and considering that I actually live on it (it is all I can see from every window in my flat, I can’t see a single other thing), I will miss it as it has been ‘my home’ for my time in Newcastle.
Again, sorry now for the essay, but I feel pretty strongly about it.

  7. Can you believe I don’t own any maxi skirts or dresses?? They’re just perfect for summer! Love this dress on you, you look great in aztec-summer styles! Also, I think the graveyard is a great backdrop! It’s not like you walk on the graves or anything 🙂 I think you’re lucky to have this kind of background for your photos! xx

  8. just come across your lovely little blog 🙂 your dress is gorgeous! Such pretty colours. I hope you did finally get some revision done in the end, I’m sure it won’t be long until you’re finished! Now following you sweet 🙂
