[Last updated: 20th November 2025]

Black Friday book deals have officially begun in the UK! And honestly, this year’s early Black Friday sale feels bigger than Prime Day and Cyber Monday combined.

If you’re an avid reader, shopping for book lovers, beginning your holiday season gift list, or just looking for a good book (or three!) to curl up with on a sun lounger next year (we can dream, right!), this is the perfect time to get a head start.

We’ve got 50% off books, brilliant box sets, early access offers, Kindle book bargains, and some gorgeous print books and coffee table books that would make incredible gifts. And unlike past years, the deals are rolling out well before Thanksgiving weekend, giving you a great opportunity to shop without the last-minute panic.

This post will be updated throughout the day as new offers go live, so feel free to bookmark it or pop back later for the best Black Friday deals across UK bookshops.

Waterstones Black Friday – Up to 50% Off Books & Games

Waterstones has launched one of the best Black Friday book sales this year, with up to 50% off RRP on select books, games and puzzles. This is such a great time to grab those big-ticket hardbacks, chunky box sets or giftable editions you’ve had your eye on.

A few early highlights:

There are also brilliant deals on games, making it one of the best places to shop if you want something for the whole family.

Budget Book Deals – The Works, Books2Door & BookLife

If you’re shopping for kids, gifting teachers, or just love a bargain, these are the early access deals worth grabbing:

The Works

The Works Black Friday book offers are currently all in store only.

BookLife Black Friday Sales Bonus Scheme (Perfect for Teachers & Schools)

If you’re buying books for a school, classroom, or library, BookLife has brought back their brilliant Black Friday Bonus Scheme — and it’s even better than in previous years. To help with tighter budgets, they’ve lowered the minimum spend to just £100 (down from £200), and you can earn up to £400 worth of free books depending on how much you spend.

Here’s how it works:

  • Spend £100 → get £25 in free books
  • Spend £250 → bigger bonus
  • Spend £500+ → bonus keeps rising
  • Spend £1,000+ → get £400 of free books added on top

Just add books to your basket and BookLife automatically calculates your bonus as you shop. It’s a fantastic Black Friday offer if you’re stocking up a classroom, refreshing a school library, or buying sets for group reading.

Personalised & Giftable Books (Wonderbly + more)

Looking for something meaningful? Personalised books are one of my favourite gift categories, especially for kids.

Wonderbly has kicked off their Black Friday sale with up to 25% off, including:

  • Personalised picture books
  • Sibling stories
  • Storybooks perfect for Christmas Eve boxes

These make lovely keepsakes and are often cheaper now than the rest of the year.

If you’re after thoughtful print books or photo books for the holiday season, this is also when many UK brands launch their best deals, a great opportunity if you’re planning a best holiday card or photo gift.

How to Get the Best Black Friday Book Deals (Tips)

A few quick tips to save even more during the Black Friday book sales:

  • Join loyalty schemes – Waterstones Plus and Foyalty points stack with Black Friday deals
  • Sign up for early access – especially at Books2Door and Waterstones
  • Don’t panic purchase — better early deals roll out over the next week
  • Check price history on Amazon — some deals might drop further on Cyber Monday
  • Look for free shipping thresholds to make the most of multiple purchases
  • Grab gift cards now if you’re planning a big shop later in the season

It’s a great time to get Christmas gifts sorted, tick a few book lovers off your list, and maybe pick up a new cosy read or two for yourself.

And yes, in case you were wondering, I’ll absolutely be refreshing these pages like it’s a text message from Jason Reynolds. That’s what Black Friday does to me!
