This outfit is from last weekend when Charley and Frankie came to stay for the night, and Charley took these photos for me – seriously, aren’t they amazing?! Charley is now my official blog photographer – Ben has been rushing them too much lately whenever I’ve asked him to do them, but Charley lined them up and took her time, and they worked really well! I actually bought this dress around this time last year in Durham, weirdly when I was with Charley and wore it for a day out to the Bowes Museum which was close to where we lived at the time. Since then, I’ve worn it a few times, including once to a vintage festival, but I’d never considered layering a jumper over it like this. It worked really well actually, mostly because of the dropped waist sitting where the jumper ends and the collar peeking over the top. I should do this more often!
The rest of this day was spent in York Christmas shopping with my sister. I actually ended up changing out of these shoes to go to York, and I’m glad I did because it was super busy and we were walking around quite fast to beat the crowds! And now we’re part way to having our Christmas shopping done!

Also what do you think of how I’ve laid out my outfit listings up there? I did it this way on my introduction post for Big Cup Little Cup and thought it looked good, so decided to try it out here too. It probably doesn’t make that much of a difference to you, but there you go 🙂 Oh and I bracketed Matalan because I’m not sure where my tights are actually from, but those ones are the same! I did get some fleece lined burgundy tights from Tesco the other day which are amazing! I have some black ones from Primark from last year, but burgundy are my second most worn tights, so I was really excited to find some! They’re so warm and cozy 😀
So anyway, I think I like the new location for my photos! They were taken in the morning when there was some really nice light, and I like the lane being in the background. This is right outside my house (we’re behind that orange-leaved hedge above), and basically, it’s a potholed muddy little lane with a line of 8 houses on, then probably another 8 about a mile up the lane. We’re right on the edge of a small market town, meaning we have fields on either side of us, with a park just behind that. We’ve always lived in the countryside (aside from being at uni), but at the moment, we need to be well positioned for work etc. So it’s just about perfect for us – 25 minute drive for both us of to get to work in opposite directions; it has a few shops and a post office; 25 minute drive to a proper supermarket (which seems close to us, after living nearly an hour from it before!) fields on either side and pretty quiet.

I have been the most rubbish blogger recently – no outfit posts for like two weeks or something?! And I’m not even doing a good job of making up for it with rushed hotel room photos, but you’ll have to deal with them for now! At least I have a couple of my beautiful looking…

  • Keldy

Ben and I decided to walk the dog at a place called Keldy that’s pretty near where we live. I’ve actually posted about us going there a few times before (see here) and it’s a really lovely place in the woods. In fact it’s where Beth and I did our ‘photoshoot’ pictures this summer!! We…

  • Striped Midi

I’ve seen dresses this style in shops for what must be at least a year and quite often picked them up and put them back down again. I’m a bit funny with midi dresses and skirts because I do love them, particularly because so many things are so short now, but I find them difficult…

So here’s the outfit I promised you the other day =) It was from Saturday evening when I went to the cinema with my family, then out for tea afterwards, and I have to say that it was one of my favourite outfits I’ve worn in a long time =D But what’s annoying is that…

    Blue Birds

I haven’t really mentioned that while we were in Turkey we met another lovely young couple that we made friends with while we were there. On our first proper day, Ben and I signed up to go to the Turkish Baths – while that was a fun (and very interesting!) experience in itself, we ended…

  1. Lovely autumn outfit! Looks cozy and cute at once. I love the color combos of the tights and sweater.

  2. Oh, you’ve got the jumper/dress layering thing down to a tee. Something I keep meaning to try this year but it never quite seems to work for me.

  3. I love this look! I particularly love your burgundy tights and shoes. I’ve been skeptical of shoes like that for a while now and you’ve just convinced me that they can be cute when they’re worn right! Cute look!
