Europe Road Trip Wishlist

In a couple of weeks, I’m going on holiday – excited! It’s a different one to usual as we’re not going to America and it’s not a “sunny weather and beach” one, although I’m hoping there’ll be plenty of sun still. Instead, we’re doing a mini Europe tour, with the main portion of our holiday being in Austria – basically I’m imagining me doing this:

The parents are heading down a week before us, then Ben, my sister and I are going to meet them in Germany. We’re staying 1 night in Munich before heading down to Austria for around a week, then going down to Italy to end up at Venice. Ben and I are leaving them there while they drive (and ferry) the rest of the way home then.

And because this is a different style holiday to the usual, I’m thinking about the different kind of clothes I’ll be needing. Normally my holidays are either beach or sun holidays that require bikinis and pool cover ups, or US holidays which mean either theme parks or lots of walking in the woods. This time though, I’m thinking I’ll need to be slightly smarter than the usual, as there will be some European cities involved, a little bit more stylish, and some slightly more covered up clothing – I’m imagining Austria where we’re spending the majority of the trip will be a little cooler.

I’ll be taking most of the things from my Italy capsule wardrobe, ready to wear again in Venice as well as other parts of the trip, but here are a few more pieces I’m hoping to purchase (or possibly make!) before we leave:

I’ve been loving these crop top style bikinis recently – they keep you covered from the sun and look really cool too. I’ve actually got a design I’ve sketched out (although I’m terrible at drawing!) with something similar but a fastening at the back, so I may make something similar instead of purchasing.

I’ve been wanting some longer and high waisted denim shorts for a while – most of mine are really short and low waisted because they’re old and that’s what was in way back when!

I was scrolling through these maxi dresses and just fell in love with this one – I love tropical prints for summer and am wearing my Collectif one a lot. A maxi dress version of a tropical print would be awesome, especially as I loved wearing my new memade maxi the other day.

This dress looks so simple and so comfortable, plus it’s super flattering and ethically made.

I desperately need a new pair of sturdy summer shoes so I’ve been looking at Birkenstock sandals recently. I really like the daintier straps and buckles of these compared to the usual designs.

Who woulda thunk that I would be looking at bumbags of my own accord?! (Or saying “woulda thunk”…sorry about that) But this is a gorgeous leather, with pretty beading, and looks so handy!

At first I hated these. Then like all trends that I hate at first, I decided I love them and had to have one. I was very disappointed in a Primark version of the lace up top that I bought the other week (a Primark has finally opened in York, I may have a problem) but this Urban Outfitters one looks promising.

And finally a pretty dress, just because.
