Tough Girl…honestly!

IMG_2775

Obviously because I put on a leather jacket I turned into some kind of tough girl, who doesn’t smile sweetly at the camera like I usually do, but pouts aggressively instead. It wasn’t intentional, I swear, but that’s how half my pictures came out!!

So as I mentioned before, last week I spent working mornings in the bakery, meaning actually making cakes and other bakery-ish stuff (biscuits, pizzas, fruit salads….obviously!), and it’s a pretty hard working job, involving a lot of heavy lifting, pushing big stacks of trays around and getting very messy, covered in chocolate and tomato sauce. It’s not the sort of little bakery that makes 20 cakes a day, it’s the sort that makes 10,000 biscuits a day (and I was in charge of all of those!). But this week I’m in the office instead, therefore I get to wear prettier clothes. Although it’s not the sort of office you can turn up to in heels, more of a sort of outfit like I’m wearing today, not too smart but not too casual and with flats.

Despite the fact that I can wear much prettier clothes for the office, I actually seem to prefer working in the bakery. Why? Who knows! Since when would I like doing heavy lifting and dirty work?? Apparently since now… Also being in the bakery means I’m finished by 12.30pm each day and have the afternoon off, although I do have to be there pretty early.

Leather Jacket: New Look (borrowed from Beth)
Rust Top: Forever 21
Striped Skirt: Forever 21
Silver Flats: Primark

I acquired this leather(-ish) jacket from sister yesterday. I’m pretty sure she’s had it about 3 years but never worn it, so I demanded last night that it become mine, and it did! Not sure how well it suits me, but I’m going to keep giving it a try and see how it turns out, it might become a wardrobe staple or I might forget about it. This top is a new favourite, another Forever 21 Florida buy, and a new staple to my wardrobe, it seems to go with everything, and I love the oversized shape, slight sheerness and the awesome rust colour, pretty much a perfect top! It goes over dresses, with skirts, with shorts and with jeans (despite the fact that I don’t really wear them!).

I really love the colour of this top when paired with the striped skirt, it looks really chic. I always get a little “tougher” when I’m wearing leather too haha, it cant be helped

That’s one hell of a pout 🙂 Honestly, I don’t think I would want to meet you in a dark alley if you were wearing that jacket, you seem to be channelling your inner bad girl. Love that shade of coral on you, it makes your tan look fantastic xo

I’d probably prefer working in the bakery to the office, too. I love being in a kitchen though, baking and cooking. The only job I’ve ever really enjoyed was working in a pizza shop, back in high school.

I really love that skirt on you, and I’m not usually a big fan of stripes. I dig the jacket too… pair it with some florals next! Or maybe lace! Those are two ways I adore wearing my own leather jacket.

Not too tough though with the pretty flowers in the background! 🙂 You look great. I love the fun colors. You know. Like orange. Since you actually aren’t wearing any other colors except orange. But the purple flowers contribute to the overall look, too.

Your job sounds fun! I worked in a deli for over two years. I hate the gross clothing you have to wear when working around food and hot ovens. But it keeps you busy and the time passes by quickly!
