Reading and Writing

So my newer readers might not know because I don’t think I’ve mentioned in a while, but one of my favourite things to do is read. Ever since I’ve been able to read, I wanted to be a writer (specifically when I was younger a children’s author, but nowadays more of a young adult writer would be more fitting), and I do still want to be, although finding the time to actually get on with writing something is pretty hard nowadays.
Anyway, the point of all this was to prove to you how much I love reading. I spent all day today (actually 2 weeks in the past now!) reading on my living room floor in front of a television that was switched off, because I’d much prefer to read than watch television. And right now, wherever I am in Florida, if I’m not in a Disney park, I’m probably reading, because that’s what I do on holiday. On a week long holiday, I usually take 5 books, and on top of that end up having to find a bookstore or one of those ‘take a book, leave a book’ places (although I usually can’t bear to leave one…ssshhh!).
I just love the way that you can escape into a completely different world for a few hours, be completely enthralled by something, really feel like you know and connect with the characters you’re reading about. It’s just such an amazing experience to fall into a book so deeply, although you feel so lost when you finish the story that captivated you so greatly when you’re just thrust out of that world again at the end. I often fall asleep dreaming up things that might have happened after the ending of a book, especially when it’s a series or trilogy that I’ve fallen entirely in love with (yes, that happens at the end of Harry Potter!!).
So I’m telling you all this for a couple of reasons: firstly, so you can get to know a bit more about me and what I like doing; secondly, because I’m planning a couple of book reviews to come up while I’m away, and thought I’d give you a bit of an explanation of my love for reading.
So I hope you enjoy my book reviews that are coming up =) I might also add to the bottom of them some other books I’ve really enjoyed but without reviewing them, sort of as recommendations to you. And if you have any recommendations for me, please let me know because I’m always looking for new authors and books! I’ve decided I’ll try and make my book reviews a regular feature on Sundays, so you’ll get three in a row while I’m away and I’ll try and keep up with them as much as I can but I don’t think I’ll be able to do one every single week =D
Love,

  2. Books <3 As a librarian, I love books, fiction and non-fiction. I have pretty peculiar taste in books lately though, I think I’ll wait to see what you like reading before recommending anything haha.

  3. I’m way jealous of that book shelf! I try to read but time just doesn’t always allow for it. i like to read at least 20 books per year.
