Aintree Ladies’ Day with Matalan

So if you’ve been paying attention recently, you’ll know why Charlotte, Becca and I are all fancied up in the picture above…yes, I spent the day yesterday at Aintree Ladies’ Day as a guest of Matalan, and it couldn’t have been a more perfect day (except for that hour or so of rain, but that still didn’t put a dampener on the day!!). It was the first time I met Becca, but as you know, Charlotte and I have been best blogging buddies for a while now, so it was so lovely to see them both!! We also met Charlotte and Simon who do the PR for Matalan who were both absolutely lovely, and so kind to have invited us!!

Now, sorry for the photo heavy post – these are just the photos from the Matalan Fashion Shows, the Style Contest and bits and pieces from around the event!! Tomorrow (or sometime soon!) will be outfit post time haha =D So above we have our special tags to get us inside when it rained (yay!), the Red Rum Garden where we spent most of the day, the only horse we actually saw (and it’s a statue!), and our first bottle of champagne =D

And some crazy hats and outfits, the second one is a dress made out of crisp packets!! Then Charlotte (as in the blogger) and Charlotte (who invited us!) looking very smart in an amazing white blazer =)

And here are my best pictures from the Matalan Fashion Shows – I had way more pictures than this so I whittled them down to these or else you’d be bored of them!! But because of where I was stood all the best ones are from the same show, but never mind! It was so much fun, this one in particular because the sun was shining on us at this point and was so warm, plus they had fun summery music playing and the models were dancing down the catwalk, you couldn’t help dancing and singing along!! Also you may recognise BB there from E4’s Dirty Sexy Things – Becca was obsessed with him and spent the whole day searching for him to get a photo haha =D I absolutely adored those two purple/lilac dresses, and note the crazy pink bow in the first photo, wow!!
At this point, Charlotte and I placed our bets – we had no idea what we were doing and literally went up to a desk with a nice looking woman and were like: ‘Help us pleeeease!!’ So we picked out some horses with nice names, and amazingly I managed to win on the last race!!! My horse overtook Charlotte’s at last minute, sorry Charlotte!! I won £22.20, but I’d bet £16 so it wasn’t a massive win, but yay!! I’m usually the most unlucky person ever – looks like Friday 13th isn’t so bad for me =D

Then the rain came down!! We watched some races indoors, and went back to the Red Rum garden for the final of the Matalan Style Contest. Unfortunately there wasn’t much of a gathering for it, which was a shame as the finalists and winner looked amazing!! The lady in the black dress was the lucky winner, looking very Audrey Hepburn-esque I think =D (I really want that blue dress too!!).
And a final photo today, us with Jeff Brazier, yay!! I’ll be back with more photos of my outfit soon, but thank you SO much to Matalan for inviting me – they definitely organize some amazing events!!
